    Hi ladies,

Not been on for a while but have been reading.

Many congrats to Sunshine, such good news! Already looking forward to new baby pictures!

Also congrats to Gilly on the new job, will be a big change but you'll soon get in a routine and A will love nursery. Poppy loves going now and has come so far and learns new things every day. We are still trying to master potty training which is proving to be hard work! Tantrums are getting less and I'm able to reason with her more which makes life a little easier!

I still have a tiny girl and most of her clothes are 9-12 months, she is still a dot at 3 but all the women in my family and my husbands family are petite so couple that with her very small birth weight, it is to be expected that she will be small! Her consultant is very happy with her though and she is catching up with her peers. All the other children look after her at nursery because she is so much smaller and very shy. One boy in particular is very taken with her and they are often found in the home corner hugging!! :)

  • Hi guys :)

Thanks for the messages. Feeling a bit better about things lately, excited about telling A and hoping he will be excited to be a big brother. Feeling sooo much more tired than before and feeling awfully nauseous, but luckily no sickness as yet.

Gilly, yay for first day at nursery! Bet he had a lovely time. My A wants to invite all the nursery staff to his birthday party! Hope you enjoy your last week before your job and that you are excited to get stuck in.

Mrsh, yay on your wedding! Have you planned colours and dresses etc yet?

Saffagal, good luck with the medication. I don't have any advice but sounds like Nutella has given you some tips :)

Jannine, so nice to see you posting and so lovely to hear that Poppy is coming on leaps and bounds. How cute with her little buddy at nursery!

Clothes sizes are funny things aren't they. A can wear some 3-4 tops that fit him nicely but some 2-3 trousers are too big....strange. dizzy and Nutella, sounds like you are going to have some tall girls on your hands. My sisters little one is 7 and wears age 10 clothes as she is way taller than average too. Towers above her class mates!

Poor you sunshine, don't envy your early pregnancy symptoms, still remember it well! So exciting though! Have you a secret wish for either sex? 2 little boys would be lovely but a little sister would so cute as well! Loads of my friends at work seem to be having babies and they keep saying that I'll get broody! Hasn't happened yet, love newborns, but I remember the sleepless nights all to well! :D

    Thanks lovely :)
I don't mind either really, on a practical basis I have tons of boys baby clothes which I vacuum bagged up so in that sense a boy would be more practical, but I do like the idea of a little girl too, purely because I am quite a girly girl and like the thought of buying all the pretty clothes!

I think A would be happy with either. He has a good mix of girl and boy mates at nursery.

Have you made a decision on any more children? I seem to remember you said you had decided against it, but that was a while ago now.

Not looking forward to the sleepless nights! A is a great sleeper now and will go 12 hours in his bed uninterrupted. He won't even get out of his bed until we go into him. Will be a huge shock to have to do night feeds again and survive on minimal sleep!

Still adamant on no more babies. We are really happy as a family of 3 and for lots of selfish reasons I suppose we have decided to just have the one. I have my medical reasons as well and the risk of another early birth and the thought terrifies me. I don't think I'd handle it so well again now I know how hard a journey it is. Plus as you say those sleepless nights again! Poppy is a great sleeper same as A and will go 12 hours most nights and she still naps in the afternoon! We like our sleep in this family!

Do you think you'll find out the sex?

    Completely understand your reasons too.

I don't know if we will, again on a practical level it would be t easier in terms of having everything ready etc but I really did like the surprise with A. I think it was the only thing keeping me going in labour was wondering what we would get haha!

We have a while before we decide yet anyway, only about 7.5 weeks. I do like talking about it on here though :) no one else knows, not even my mum or sister and we are really close, so it's nice talking about the little bits on here.

You moved house didn't you recently? Are you all settled in now? X

I'd go for a surprise as well! I'm a practical person and like to be organised but I always knew when I had a baby I wouldn't find out. I can remember my husband telling me that we had a girl after Poppy was born - a very special moment!

Yes we moved into a new build a couple of months ago, completely settled and we love it. Lots of little ones about so plenty of friends for Poppy when she gets older! A very stressful time with Poppy and our many animals and not something we'll be doing again in a rush but love living in a new house! My last house was a 1920's drafty semi and our new house is so toasty and warm. Completed converted to new builds now!

I bet your mum and sister will be chuffed to bits! You've done well to keep it a secret! I'm close to my only sister and mum and can't wait to be an Aunty when my sister has a baby!

Dizzi - my LO will be 3 in May and we're in 5-6! I bought some stuff in 6-7 last week and some of it fits her now!

I find you always need to go up a size in toddler girls stuff sooner because it's all flipping skinny cut (Tesco T-Shirts I'm looking at YOU!)... Bobbi's rocking an age 4-5 jumper this morning, granted the cuffs are turned up a bit but hers usually are or she chews them!

I do sometimes wonder with the height thing - hubby's family are very short but there's a tall uncle so the genes are there somewhere (hubby's 6 foot 7) and my MIL was very premature so I wonder if she lost some potential height because of that - certainly Erin's tall but nowhere near Bobbi in terms of centile lines and I wonder if she lost a bit because of coming early - Bobbi's almost the same height at the moment but I think she's just had a growth spurt and Erin's looking due for one. She's still slightly not quite with her peers in terms of gross motor skills - she can't jump at all or climb very well - but that's about it... we've just had a right nightmare potty training though - were almost there and she got hospitalised and they wanted her back in nappies because of her being on monitors and oxygen - and then she adamantly refused to entertain not being in nappies after that. Went to my mum's at the weekend and her big second cousins were there (well big in age wise - there's not much in it in terms of height!) and hero worship kicked in and she announced she was going to be a big girl now - and came out of preschool yesterday in the same trousers she went in in so hoping we're getting there now!

ooh lovely :) we moved house just over a year ago and I'm the same. I love our new home and don't envisage moving again, unless I win the lottery haha. We lived in an old semi before too, which was always cold and way too small. Our new place is a detached and so much more roomy than what we had before. Glad you have settled in and enjoying it.

I think I may end up telling my mum and sister before 12 weeks. With A,we told them at 10 weeks. I suppose I'll see how we feel nearer the time.

Hope everyone is well x x
