Been a while, I've been super busy with my little chatterbox settling into nursery, scary how much she's growing up now, my baby is definitely a toddler. I'm building my own business in between which is amazing as it'll give me so much more time to spend with her.

We're ok thanks Nutella! Had Baby's eight month check up on Tuesday. All fine and now measuring 99.6 percentile on height! Only follow up is re his eyes which are slightly squinty... We'd noticed it when he was young but forgotten til health visitor mentioned on Tuesday. So we're being referred to a specialist. I'm not too worried as it's only just noticeable so unlikely affecting him in a big way, just been recommended to get it checked out.

Been feeling a bit miserable/ up and down lately. Think it's all the discussion about going back to work and also I've got a lot on at the moment and keep forgetting things. I'm normally super organised but have been struggling a bit eg organising our social life, remembering birthdays etc so feel a bit lousy there. Am bickering with hubby over stupid things, like poor table manners. On the flip side we've had some nice times together as a family and looking forward to Christmas. Plus the hubby is very kind and understanding even if he eats like he's against the clock!

    How is everyone else?! X

Hi fran-o :hello: Sorry to hear you're feeling miserable :( I can empathise with the forgetfulness and bickering over little things - for me, it's always worse when I haven't slept enough, so do make sure you have a nap whenever you can :o The weather's not helping though - it's so cold and wet! Lol at your OH eating like he's against the clock - but then your son is growing fast and there might come a time when he needs to fight for his food! :rotfl:

We're good thanks - reading lots of books at the moment, as LO's really getting into proper stories. She'll sometimes grab the book and pretend to be at the nursery, saying 'Let's read a story!' (...talks about the pictures...) 'Stop it boys! Sit down!' (...talks about the picture...) 'No running!' :o
  • Hi ladies :)

What a week! Am doing some extra hours at work at the moment and am SO glad I went with 2 and a half days as I am finding 3 days really tough! Even if I'll be doing 3 days for the next couple of months... I'm looking at it as bonus spending money for our holiday in Feb

Last night we had our first parent's evening at nursery... my little one is 18 months old! And attending parent's evening already... she is doing just fine (which I knew already as speak to them daily when I collect her!) They're moving her from the baby group to the next group up so from yellow to blue group although she still stays in the baby room, she'll start doing more activities with the 2 year old group in preparation for moving to the next room after her birthday.

She's also (in the words of nursery) "forming a firm friendship" with a little girl who lives around the corner so we're going on a playdate next weekend... just have another week of work and my sis in law coming to stay for two nights with her 4, 2, and 1 year old... Yikes!!!

    Have a good weekend all

getting really tempted by the Primark christmas jumpers...!

LO doing well, sometimes will not go to bed until 10pm which can be very annoying when he gets very clingy and upset when he's tired.

any advice about Christmas decorations with a crawling, furniture walking baby? I really don't want a big floor standing Christmas tree! I'm thinking a small one where baby can't reach.

Hi Benice, we've decided to skip the usual big tree this year, and bought a small pre lit tree to go on our sideboard out of reach. A bit sad but I don't want to spend December pulling him away from the tree! Was discussing with a friend at play group and she said in previous years with crawlers about she's put her normal tree up but inside a playpen!

  • 5 days and no posts!

LO has decided to wake up at a silly hour and wants to play for a few hours before going back to bed! not sure if it's cos he's working out how to walk.

I bought him some Clarks pre-walkers for £15 from an outlet and I'm quite tempted to get him another pair...am I being silly? He's 14 months so I guess they might not last him too long. But I'm a vain mummy...

BeNice, I'm in no position to suggest to anyone that they refrain from shopping, but when it comes to shoes at that age I really would try to resist buying more than one pair at a time. In six weeks his feet will probably have grown again and then you'll *have to* go shopping ;)
  • thanks Nutella for inspiring restraint! haha I remember all the cute shoes you would link to for your LO, so pretty!

I had a look online and his current shoes are way nicer than anything else available which helps - cute dinosaurs :) He's a 4G and I managed to pick up a 4 1/2 G pair for £2.50 from an NCT sale last Saturday so hopefully he'll be sorted for a few months.
