Hello
Well done on your xmas shopping, MrsH! I still need something for my parents, but apart from that I'm done as well.
Happy new tree, Sunshine!Sounds like you've had a lovely week with your little one.
We put up fairy lights the other day - LO loves them
We've got new words and expressions every day - the latest ones are 'no messing about mummy!' and 'of course you can!'. And she's starting telling other people's kids off - this morning on the train she shouted 'no! sit down! listen to mummy!' to a pair of children running around :rotfl:They did need to be told that, but ideally by their mother...
Hope everyone else is well x0 -
'What's that?'
'It's a place where they recycle rubbish - they take the rubbish that people have thrown away and use it to make new things'.
'Make muffins!?'
Recycling - it's complicated stuff when you're two and a half! :rotfl:0 -
Hiya
After a sicky end of the last week, had a much better week this week! Thankfully hubby and baby didn't catch my illness. Had a fairly quiet time though. Took baby to soft play, did a little Xmas shopping and managed to take a Christmassy photo of baby to send in the relatives Christmas cards... Baby moved up into group 1 car seat today as he's too long for his baby seat now at ten months.fran-o0 -
Hi Ladies and little ones!
Nice to see a bit of activity on here. Nutella, hope you are both well and you perhaps have a moving date now? Fingers crossed that 2015 starts with you moving
Almost done with our shopping. Just my niece and dad to buy for and that's me done. I know what we are getting them, just need to get them ordered.
Spent the evening with my sister and 7 yr old niece and A went to bed singing "let it gooo let it goooo!!!'

A moved into his at ten months too. He was so long and squished in the baby carrier I had no choice haha xxLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Yeah our little one measured at 99th percentile at his last check (has been 91st or above since birth) and as his daddy is 6ft8 we're not surprised to have a tall boy!
I'm so enjoying the Christmas build up this year, looking forward to feeling festive with Baby - even though I'm sure he'll be totally confused/ bewildered by it all! We're at my parents this year with my in laws joining us too... Thankfully hubby's family and mine get on well and everyone prefers a big Christmas gathering so we all get together. Last year at in law's I was 8m pregnant and sober.
Just been discussing Baby's first birthday (feb) with hubby too, think we'll do a family lunch for grandparents/ aunties and uncles/ cousins at home. More an adult celebration than a kids party... We'll have years of those to come in the future, buffet and bubbles sounds like a good way to mark this first year!
Have a good night all xfran-o0 -
Ahhh Fran o, he will be tall! A was always around 75th percentile.
I'd agree with your plans for first birthday it's very similar to what we did. We took him to soft play and for lunch on the cm actual day and then had a late afternoon tea party with close family and godparents etc. It was really lovely. We did have a party for his 2nd, but he was in nursery and everyone else in his room did one so I kinda felt pressured into it haha!

Evening all ladies
I've been working most evenings doing overtime for the past few weeks, so things have been a little manic for me. A has been very kind to me though by giving me some lovely lie-ins on my days off and the weekends... the past two mornings she slept in until 8! Bliss!!
I am very pleased to be able to say I have finished our Christmas shopping. I have two still to be delivered, but collected the last present today. I thought it would be manic but arrived 20min before closing this evening and there was practically no one there!
It's my birthday next week so I sent OH with A to let her choose a card for me... hehe he came back looking very, very stressed saying she is a terror to shop with! Apparently she tried to grab a number of cards and when he took one away from her had a tantrum on the floor of the card shop. :rotfl: And he wonders why I carry a regular supply of snacks to deflate such situationsand he finally understands why I don't like "just popping" into a number of different shops to pick up bits and pieces for him.
A's speech is coming on so nicely now - every day we get new words and she has a number of phrases now. We're working really hard on "please" and "thank you" whenever she asks for anything. She always says please accompanied by a huge cheesy grin... too cute!
We're also well into tantrums now... Friday she screamed (face down on the floor, legs kicking) for 20 min because I told her I was making toasted sandwiches for lunch. She loves toasted sandwiches! Today she did the same because I wanted to take her coat off after we came in from a walk... Obviously completely unreasonable of me!
Aside from the tantrums I am really enjoying her at this age.
I started wrapping some of her Christmas bits today... we've decided to wrap some of her presents from Father Christmas and pop the stocking into the bottom of her cot when we go to bed so she'll wake up with them in the morning. I did really rubbish wrapping so she'll be able to unwrap them entirely on her own
Hope that everyone is well

lazywife Congrats on your move! Glad that you're back online and how wonderful to be settled in time for Christmas
Nutella I love soft play and it is great for wearing little people out! We usually go to a soft play group on a Monday and one of the farms nearby has an indoor soft play; obviously as a good mother I have to supervise my little one so get to go on the big spiral slide too
fran We just had family round for A's first birthday; plenty of time for friends in the coming years.
MrsH I'm looking forward to Christmas much more this year too; we don't do our tree until after my birthday in the second week of Dec (my rule) but I am tempted to do it earlier for A's benefit0 -

Coat on coat off always a tricky one here, same with shoes. T's getting into a good tantrum when he wants something now. Cute, but hard work sometime too.
Like the bad wrapping idea so he can tear open his stocking bits himself.
