  • Some unhelpful comments from onlookers haven't made me feel any better, for instance at the bf group one of the women said (whilst I was trying to calm down my screaming baby): "ooh, isn't that unusual, you've given her a kiss and made her cry more" before repeating this to another lady and gesturing at us. I realise I'm probably being oversensitive but when I feel like this it's not really what I want to hear - I'm only trying my best after all. *shrug*
Ahhh, I'm always moaning, I hope everyone else has had a good day.

How rude.....you'd think other mums would realise you're trying your best, after all we do what we think is right and sometimes it just doesn't work and we don't know why.

Though I admit I do feel pressure to calm my LO down quickly when she starts. I feel judged I guess.

Thanks for the comments re my OH, I might just have to be brave and go out and try not too worry. I think that makes it worse seeing what he does do to try and calm her down, so I'd just keep picturing her being so upset.

Glad you're okay lily, hoping everything settles down for you soon.

Glad you got checked over Lily and everything is ok.
Onetree, that sucks. They were really mean and didn't need to say any of that. They clearly were just nasty people. You did really well to not just burst into tears and cry all the way home with your LO, I think I would have done if someone said that to me! Next time it'll get easier.
Thanks for the advice Katie I think I'll look to switching in a few months. Hope you got the Bob toys!

Lily - glad you have been checked over. Maybe I aught to get some more sanitary protection in just in case! Think I have about 3/4 normal tampons in as I don't usually bleed much at all. Mind you, last time my periods didn't come back for 9-10 months (and I wasn't BF)

OTHG - Some people are just plain rude and you should try and ignore them (altho in reality I would probably cry :o). I used to find a lot of people looked at me when DD1 was screaming and I felt sooooo self conscious like they were thinking I was useless etc, but I bet most of them were simply thinking 'been there, done that' and nothing more. Over time I became more confident and less bothered by other peoples looks etc. Its probably a good job as DD1 threw some whopping tantrums when she was older! When you have a bump or baby people thing you are fair game to tell all about their own experiences (cos I love to hear horrific birth stories whilst it is all impending!) and to comment / offer "advice".

  • Hi Ladies

Hope you are all well? Been busy here again, like gilly feel like I don't have alot to contribute anymore on this thread!!

Little man will be 2 in March, cannot believe where the time has gone. Gilly, have you started thinking about baby no 2 yet? We have had lots of talks about it, we would love to have another one but in reality money would be too tight and therefore I think we will have to wait another 6-9 months before trying. I have only really just got to a place where I am happy with my career and I don't want to run the risk of losing touch with it just yet.

Lily - glad the GP sent you for a scan and hopefully put your mind at rest. Fingers crossed it eases off for you soon. I never used to suffer with periods at all, but since having A they seem to be heavier and more painful :o

Katie - hello! Hope you won the ebay auction?! How is your house sale/purchase going? Sorry to read that G has hand foot and mouth, touch wood, we haven't had it and it has even been round the nursery! When I worked in nurseries I remember seeing a few babies with it and they looked very sorry for themselves. At least you have managed to get some air with him, nothing worse than being cooped up inside with a poorly one!

Not much to report here. Having a ton of birthday invites coming from the nursery, we werent planning on doing a birthday party but e have had 7 in total now for a 2 year party and starting to think that maybe we should.............

Hugs OneTree what an insensitive cow that lady is! I felt like all my son did was cry, but please don't worry it'll pass. It's so hard but it is a baby's only way of communicating. I do hope you are ok as I remember when my son cried all evening due to colic I found it really difficult xxx

Glad the scan went ok Lily xx how is Clover doing?

Can anyone please offer some advise please? Recently when I feed DD she cries a lot in between when I am burping her, if I don't burp her she brings up the entire feed but when I try to stop her feeding she cries so much/ arches her back. She does this all the way through a bottle even when her tummy is full. She brings up wind fine so that isn't an issue, could it be reflux? She is still being a bit sick, not loads but after every feed she brings up a bit. My son was never sick so it's all new to me! Not sure whether it's worth speaking to HV or is it just a normal baby thing?! I feel clueless! X

  • Hi all, kscarlet, is she just bringing up the posset amount ie a teaspoon? I think that is fairly normal, my ds still does that now, even if burped he can still be sick at 6mths! We had loads of projectile vom and he would always have pulled his legs up but mention to hv if you are worried. Some babies are more sicky than others.

lily glad all is ok, just right to get checked out. How is clover?
    sunshine and gilly, dont leave!!
Katie did you win? Ebay is something that I rarely use, I keep forgetting about it, lol

othg, some people deserve a slap. It can be hard when babies cry, I usually get flustered when mine does for no reason, but things get easier. I took ds to my mums at 3weeks old on my own, she lives 30mins away, you eventually fall into routine of feeds etc and can plan to go out.

Afm, im all set to go back to work in march, ds is booked into nursery, deposit paid and ive confirmed date with work, I really dont want to leave him :( night all x
