    Evening all :)

Hope that everyone has had a good weekend?
Yesterday was pretty good, today I've felt dreadful - in part my fault, in part LO's... Went to Ikea (SO hard not to overspend there!!!) to get some bits to complete her playroom. She was SO good! Both whilst driving and walking around. Anyway, got home, she had some active playtime till dinner, then bed routine and into bed as usual. I then built the bits we'd bought and sorted out her playroom - I am SO pleased with it!! But it took me a little longer than I'd anticipated so I only went to bed at half 12 this morning. LO then had me up at 2:45 till about 3:30 and was then up for the day at 6:30 :(
She eventually had a brief (half hour) nap at 1, which I gratefully joined her for!

I am hoping that it is either teeth coming through or a developmental leap she's going through; either way hope it resolves soon as she was a terror to put down this evening too!

I bought wall stickers for her (Hungry caterpillar for her bedroom and a world map for the playroom) off ebay; both at very good prices.

I'm off to bed; am so tired! Fingers crossed for a better night tonight x

    Congratulations and welcome Rummer :)

A has been very kind to me, sleeping until just before 5 today :D I always marvel at just how much brighter everything looks after a lovely chunk of sleep ;) Hope all the other babes are being kind to their mummies too
  • Morning everyone

    Welcome and congrats rummer :)

Tiny - I hope you relaxed a while without lo and oh :)

I went out on Saturday for a meal with a long lost friend, it was the the first time I had been out since lo was 3 months old, so nearly 7 months! Have to say I feel better for it, I was getting cabin fever!

I'm going to ask a very very silly question but please don't laugh! What does a 1 year old, in terms of, bottles? Food? Sleep habits? I only ask because we're not too far off coming up to one and I'm completely lost as to what to do next. I read a lot about babies and bottles and mushy food but nothing about the next stage. Lol!

    Have a great day :)
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!
  • It may never happen ever again but ... Eight and a half hours sleep! :j
I am also attempting to go 'out' with LO for the first time without the support of OH. :o Only the briefest of trips into town. When she was three weeks old we went to Asda but it was rubbish and made me feel like a terrible mother (and that everyone else there was thinking it) so I haven't been anywhere else except baby groups / doctors with her. I'm hoping that now I know her better (feeding, changing, crying, etc.) it might be better. I'm so anxious about it already and she's not even awake yet.
Does anyone else feel like this? Or am I just silly?

    x
Never put tables and chairs in the same room.
If they congregate together for any length of time, they will inevitably hatch plots against you and your pets.

I often feel the same onetreehillgirl, I have ventured into central London a couple of times but only with back up and in her sling where she's usually guaranteed to sleep! The only other places I've been with her alone are the park and local shops so I can dash back if she starts screaming!

However, will have to be out the house pretty much all of this week with LO as our new windows are being fitted :S have made plans for some days but not sure what to do today and it's FREEZING! Still not overly confident BFing alone in public but there's only so many times I can go into mothercare so fingers crossed I will stop being so nervous and enjoy some grub while she has hers!

Hi MrsH, by one The HV will say sippy cups only, no bottles but I'd do what you feel comfortable with, I think we had one bottle of milk at bedtime around 12 months, but I know it's common for babies still to have morning and bedtime milk then, I just have a milk avoider :o r.e food, probably by 1, even for pur!e fed babies, just whatever you're eating chopped into small manageable pieces should do, if it's cottage pie or whatever well obv you can't chop that up :o but chicken curry and naan for example just small enough pieces for them to pick up and nibble. Sleep habits, I'd just go with what you've been doing, it's a natural progression for most things rather than a complete change.

Afm, I have an almost 2 year old! how did that happen? Feel like I'm contributing less and less here ATM but there's just so many new squishes, I feel like what I have to say isn't relevant :o hugs to all xxx

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Congrats Rummer!
Saf, boo for the poor night on Saturday, hooray for a good night last night. I think we've all been lucky to have a baby sleepfest last night. We went to bed soon after T last night and he didn't wake until 6am, so 9 hours sleep... whooop!!!
MrsH, I too am thinking about the "next step" we've been doing BLW, so not too concerned about progressing food substances as he eats what we eat at the moment, just slowly increasing portion size. Still bf, he has a morning feed, then mid morning before a nap, mid afternoon before another nap and then bedtime. I'm thinking I might have to express a little for him to take out of a tommee tippee cup before his naps, so I can then easily (?) transition into cows milk when he's coming up to 12 months I think the morning and night feed will just drop off eventually.
Onetree I wouldn't be too ambitious for your trip out. I alway change, feed then go out. Do what I need to do and then if all is well can do little extra pootling bits that are nice. I end up feeding T more often than I would at home (eg after 2hrs rather than probably normally 3...mostly to keep him happy). I still "plan" a trip out and for sometime could only do one thing in a day, it's normal to feel anxious if it's unfamiliar to you. (oh, and always put on more car parking than you think you need, jobs that would normally hav only taken me 1 hr to do suddenly took over 2!)
Have a nice day everyone :)
