I'm with you Saf, DH has taken T into town one afternoon, but only in and out, so back within 2 hrs. Other than that I've been around all the time. EBF, never expressed, so I've always been nearby. Something I'm just used to. Congrats on the weight gain, I've found it reassuring now we're weaning that he's still gaining ok. I knew before with EBF that he was taking enough, but can't tell the same with food. Glad your jobs sorted.
I still listen out for T breathing when I check on him as we go to bed, and he's 8 months! Perfectly normal.
Amy, hope bf starts to ease soon. I used Lansinoh after every feed for months, just helped to keep things comfy. I second hot massage for blocked ducts and feeding that 1st as the 1st side with get the harder suck initially.
Mm & sparkles good luck on sorting the back to work. I've been spoilt as I've combined annual leave and full 12 months mat leave so I've a few months before I go back (although no pay from this month.... Boo). I think it's given me time to be ready to go back. I'll have T in nursery 3 days a week and DH will do nursery run, so those 3 days I'll send him off at 8am and he'll not be back til 6.30pm. Your late shifts will be the hardest, but hopefully it'll all go smoothly.
I've had much less cabin fever this week. I've been out every day and started making play dates with friends with babies. I'm not great at baby groups I'm afraid, if there isn't some structure, or something to do I feel a bit Billy no mates going round introducing myself and T to all new people that always seem to come with a friend. My friend has just had her baby boy before Christmas so now she's on mat leave we'll pop round to hers
Also I've made a real effort to shift some weight, started eating sensibly, did a big walk at the weekend and haven't had chocolate for 4 days now... That's a big change for me, especially how much is leftover from Christmas. I've got to wear a uniform now for work, so don't want to order a massive size because I couldn't be bothered to lose preg weight!
Hope you've not had too much more flooding Delain.x
Best wishes for George to get better soon Katie.x

Amus - thanks for your response. Do you think it helps having the heartbeat monitor? I opted for a 'normal' monitor (bought when I was pregnant) as I was worried it might make me anxious having a heartbeat monitor especially as I never worried about our DD's in that way, yet I'm a wreck this time around - am considering buying one now. I'm looking at that monitor now too!
Just been to get Thomas weighed (first time in four weeks). He is 12lb 2oz at 6 weeks! Really chuffed that breastfeeding obviously agrees with him!DS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -

Hey hun ....anxious mum here too. My oh bought an Angelcare monitor from kiddicare and it was only 65 which I think is reasonable. Have to say it definitely helps with the anxiety although not completely in my case as lo is now in his own room (he outgrew moses basket and we can't fit cot in our small bedroom). We've had him in his room a week and he's 14 weeks today so it's a bit early but he wriggles across mattress and I worry he'll hit his head on bars and I'm scared a cot bumper would fall off on him after reading that babies have sufficated because of them!! (Yes I'm terrible with the anxiety really really terrible! !) It does help and I'd be better if he were in my room to be fair (sure I'll get used to it one day) but I wouldn't say it stops the anxiety completely and I worry it will fail etc so I do Bob into lo's room a few times a night! !0 -
Oh and just to add its not just the night for me. I stop car on trips out as when he's in car seat as I worry he's stopped breathing in that. I never leave him for more than a toilet trip.. even then if it's a number 2 he's on a play mat outside door so I can hear him!! The anxiety is awful! ! I wish I could calm down!0

It's not for everyone but for me it just gives that extra peace of mind. The only thing is you have to make sure it's set to the right sensitivity setting for the mattress otherwise you get false alarms. We didn't realise with DS1 that you could change the sensitivity so every now and then it went off, have never seen OH jump out of bed so quick in my life the first time it happened!
Also when they start moving around it can go off forgot about that, and you need to make sure the wire for the mat is nowhere where they can grab it!0 -
We did baby massage and it was really good - my LO is now 20 months and I still use what I learnt. She has a little massage every evening after her bath0

gorgeous pictures MV and continual
Thanks for the tip about sensitivity of the movement monitor Amus. my angelcare monitor went off yesterday in the small hours intermittently for about an hour. In the end I just listened to LO breathing and figured that the monitor was wrong and switched it off. It's working again now but will ask OH to check sensitivity.
baby yoga today was good but LO started crying so I couldn't participate in lots of it. I also get it free on my gym membership cos it's at a sports centre
the baby massage course I did was good but LO was too fidgety/ agitated to get the best out of it. I keep meaning to do it at home but don't get round to it.
OH cut LO's nails yesterday and it ended up as a bloodbath! he used clippers and it's really common to do it with clippers. might try an emery board or my own teeth next time.
I went to baby cafe and feel much better about EBF and LO dropping percentiles. basically I'm just going to try and get as much milk in him as possible! I think him sleeping 8 hours for a few nights over Christmas impacted on my milk supply plus just feeling embarrassed about bfing in front of others.0
