Just read a fascinating and slightly disturbing article about how babies have been fed over the years. at the feeding horn and babies being fed wine and honey!
  • amyloofoo hope your nips get better, lansinoh is really great!

Our LO is in the 98th centile for height but boringly average for everything else!

Vic sorry to hear your dream feed didn't work out :( I've heard that it's best to try for a week to see if you get results but I know how difficult that can be when you're desperate for the sleep of the past!

Wondering when to think about bringing it forward a bit but I think I'll wait until she's gone up to where she should be in the percentiles.

    Wishing everyone a good night's sleep x

A is the 91st for height, but between 50 and 75th for weight

Good luck for all the weigh ins tomorrow, I'm taking A too

Lol DH has never taken A out without me, and she's 8 1/2 months now... Tricky bf babes ;)

    Night all x

    Morning ladies :)

So I took A to be weighed and she's 8.68kg (19lbs2) and still following her line. As she took 5 weeks to regain her birthweight I do worry about her weight gain, seems silly as I know weight is only one indicator and she's hitting all her other milestones quite early.

Hope all the weigh-ins have been good

My little miss has her two year check next week  where did that time go?!

flood mayhem continues here... something is going on with just about every road in or out of our town... there is only one way left, and you guessed it, gridlock!

The last 2 days in the morning we've waited 40+ minutes in gale force winds and driving rain  so this morning I put them in a taxi! Cant even walk it... the only road out without miles of diversions is 2ft underwater! Normally I love where I live. Not this week tho
Im really not looking forward to the school run this afternoon :(

Hello all, sorry we've been absent for a while, hope you all had a great Xmas.

I hope this doesn't make me sound a bit bonkers but I'm petrified that Joshua will die during the night. Does anyone else feel like this? I've had a few nightmares about it and panic if I can't hear his breathing. I didn't feel like this with my girls. I think it's because I've just had the anniversary of our Angel baby and his funeral etc. I love Joshua so much that I keep thinking something is bound to happen to take him from me IYSWIM.

Also, is it possible that he can be teething already? He's 9wks. My girls started at 3m but he keeps grinding on his fist, my nips (blo0dy ouch!), dribbling and has been a bit constipated despite ebf. I'm aware that it will probably take months to actually get teeth through but wasn't expecting any of it for another month.

Re:weaning. Back in the day lol when I was weaning our now 16yo, it was 3months - will seem weird not giving Joshua solids until he's around 6m.

Claretsgirl - sorry for your loss, sending hugs. Xx Re: bedrooms. We had similar issue - dd1 (16) had big room but is extremely messy. Dd2 (9) had box room and is very tidy. Seemed unfair to make girls share esp as dd1 has college so doesn't need to get up early every day and she wakes at anything. We decided to put dd1 in small room. Dd2 got a high bunk with desk/futon under and will share with Joshua when he goes into his cot (his changing unit/cot/clothes etc are already in there). Is that an option for you? Dd1 was just grateful to keep a room to herself. Dd2 picked her bed £45 from eBay plus we bought new mattress, and she can't wait for baby to be in there (bonus: she's a heavy sleeper).

    Xx

  • Hello everyone. Hope mums and babies are all doing well.

Lola is nearly 5 months old now and a little joy. I'm still EBF'ing although this will sadly have to come to an end soonish as I am going on a work trip to Paris in Feb as part of my KIT days.

Going to read back now as have been MiA for ages. Here is Lola Bug at 5 months :)

Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,
You don't even take him seriously,
How am I going to get to heaven?,
When I'm just balanced so precariously..

Awwww, Lola is gorgeous! We've got those wall stickers - love them :)
  • They're cool aren't they!

I've loved decorating her room. It's given me a chance to put all my design ideas into action :D

OH says it's more my room than Lola's, but I'm sure she approves ;)
