Lobey, Boots normally have a mother and baby room if you want a variety from Mothercare! As for bf in public, find yourself a nice cafe with a cosy corner and drape lots of stuff over and around, you might look like a bag lady, but people honestly won't notice your b00bs. (I always used to position the pushchair so it blocked most of the view.0

I'm sorry for TMI guys, but I'm a little bit concerned.
My first period after Clover's birth started on Friday (10th). I had no warning (no pain - very unusual for me) and it was only after I went to the loo after I got up that I realised I was bleeding. The loss was quite watery to begin with and I could cope with just a pad but since yesterday I've been literally haemorrhaging. I am filling a maternity pad and a super maxi tampon in under an hour. It's full of massive clots too.
I don't remember this after any of the others. Is it normal? I can't get a GP appointment until next Monday14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

Lily it sound like something to vet checked. I would try and see someone sooner than Monday, in my area you are still under care for 6 weeks pp, could you give your consultant a call if you can't get in to see your GP0 -
Welcome runner & congrats
Saffagal am envious of your goodnight sleep, we are still in no sleep central here, we had one good night last week where we got a 5 hour stretch and that was the only break from 2-3 hourly wakings. Am wrecked, I think C is teething and overtired, so plan for this week is to try and help him nap better during the day.
Lobey bf in public just takes some getting used to, practice makes perfect lol I just sit somewhere as discrete as possible, I don't bother with a cover anymore, I just wear something I can use to quickly cover up
One tree, I am sure in Asda no one thought you were a bad mother, they were probably just feeling sorry for you. Babies cry unfortunately so you need to give yourself a break, I plan trips for the early part of the day when C is well rested and I try not and bring him out if he is overtired.0 -
Hugs Lily that doesn't sound normal, I've had 2 v heavy periods since my LG was born as soon as birth loss stopped, they were v heavy but over quickly. Please get checked xx
Congratulations and welcome Rummerxx
I feel so tired, we had a dreadful night. No real idea what was wrong but she just seemed wide awake and starving despite feeding loads during the day.Trying to save for a deposit

Lily if youre going through that much in one hour, Id either call and say you need an emergency gps appt, or go to a walk in centre or last resort a&e. I havent had a baby yet but anytime Ive ever had any issues, either from periods, miscarriage, etc they always have said if you are soaking through I think more than one pad an hour you must see someone!0

Mrsh2b re coming up to one - we were blw so basically just carried on as we were! started giving him cutlery with meals and that actually dramatically improved his eating (albeit briefly) as he seems to be funny about picking certain textures up. Milk wise I'd stopped bf by 11 months and he was (and still is) on cows milk first thing when he wakes, in the afternoon and at bedtime. Should probably start reducing the afternoon one I suppose but he does really enjoy it. Are you doing pur!e weaning for you LO? I think nutella did too so she might have some more advice on the next stage for that
I've still got a spotty boy, more blistery now. I'm thanking my lucky stars that it's been relatively dry the last few days so even though we can't go to play groups we've atleast been able too get out for a walk in the fresh air.Newborn thread member

Lily, I wouldn't wait for a week. You need to get checked in the next couple of days. Try GP emergency appt, or 111?
Katie, when did you start G on cows milk? I know they say wait until 12 months, but I'd like to get him started on it before then. Perhaps if I introduce cows milk for nap time feeds in morning and afternoon, then keep bf for 1st thing and last thing. He's 8.5 months.

It sounds more like PP bleeding than a period. I stopped bleeding after having Anna really quickly but then after 2 weeks it came back heavily. It was the middle of the night so I called the maternity ward. They told me to go in where they scanned me and swabbed for infection. It was clear but they gave me antibiotics as a precaution with me having a section. I definitely wouldn't wait till next week to see someone.0 -

We started on cows milk around the 10.5-11 month mark as my supply was pretty much non existent by then. We did give him the ready made formula cartons for a week or two but they were so expensive we switched to cows milk. Our HV said as he was so close to the magic 12 months it wasn't a problem to switch. I don't know about other babies but he went straight on to it without a hitch - possibly because he was so sick getting this empty boob shoved in his face, expect it was a relief to have a sippy cup that actually had something in it! Hope that helps a bitNewborn thread member
