Hi all, thanks for all your news. BeNice I am feeling a bit the same about motherhood... It's becoming more manageable and I'm seeing more response from baby which is lovely. Our little one is 14 weeks.

Just coming to the end of a solo shift with baby. Hubby has been in Texas for work since Wednesday morning and should be back this afternoon. We managed to Skype once and baby gave him massive smiles so I think he recognised his daddy (cousins and auntie do not get the same response on Skype!)

I've had help in each evening (parents, in laws and a friend) to have dinner then help with the evening routine - baby is a night owl so I wanted some evening help or it's a long stretch til bedtime! It's been mixed - one average night (up at 3am), one difficult night (3am-5am then bad sickness at 6am), and last night he didn't go off til after midnight but then slept til nearly 8am, lovely!!!

Just thinking now of a short summer break. Want to go in June or July before schools break up somewhere in uk. We won't be weaning yet then so will be simpler than later in the year. We're in suburban London so maybe Kent Essex or Suffolk...

Have a lovely weekend all x

Ladies, what sun cream do you reccommend for my 14 month old tomorrow for the seaside?

    I've been Money Tipped!
A bit late to comment now MrsH, sorry, we use Boots own soltan kids sun lotion. Any type (never seem to have it when we need it, so have to buy more and it's often different)
Hope everyone has enjoyed the sunshine!

We used Nivea kids pure & sensitive last summer (so from when LO was 12 months old) and on holiday to sub-Saharan Africa, and really like it. It happens to be on offer in Boots at the moment :) Having said that, I think Boots own brand has an even higher UVA rating (5 stars), whereas Nivea has 4 stars, so if I were you I'd make a decision based on what's on offer combined with what has the highest UVA rating.

I also always keep a tube of pure aloe vera gel from Holland & Barrett nearby - it's amazing stuff if you or LO get sunburnt (also works wonders on other burn-related injuries).

    Have a lovely day!

ETA: Lazywife, your comment reminded me that the Nivea cream that we use also comes in a pocket sized version - it obviously works out more expensive, but it's perfect for keeping in the changing bag/in the basket under the buggy to make sure you always have sun cream with you. It came with us everywhere we went last summer :)

Oh man! I got A's stomach bug yesterday afternoon/evening. Thank goodness OH was home as no idea how I would have coped without his help… I still feel rough and had a disturbed night but thankfully A slept through.

Totally agree on the bruises! G slipped down a step and grazed his too, so he looks like he's been in the wars a bit! Sorry been AWOL, we got a puppy this week so it's a little hectic here right now! Going fine and G loves him - as soon as he wakes up it's all "woof woof? Woof woof?" :D. Hope everyone's ok will attempt to catch up soon :)

Following along the sun theme - any tips on getting a 2yo to wear a hat?! He just rips it off his head as soon as I put it on...

Haha how sweet! What breed have you got? We cant have a pet as our working hours wouldnt really be fair on it, A would love one though.

Planning on going to cbeebies land as its only up the road really, just looking at prices though and you have to buy a ticket for the whole theme park...stupid. As if we are going to go on rollercoasters when we have a 2yr old with us, would make more sense to do a ticket just for beebies.
