    I've been Money Tipped!
Good luck tomorrow Saf and good luch A for her 1st "proper" nursery day.
T has had a rough few days, he was a horror at swimming today, but then had a massive nap in the middle of the day and has been more pleasant since.
DH been very busy with work, so it's just been the two of us for a lot of days and evenings. He's really becoming a proper little boy now, very cute.

    Evening all :)

Saf, hope tomorrow goes well and that A sleeps for you tonight.

I went to yoga this evening for the first time in 2 years! :D  I used to go regularly (pre-baby), and have really been missing it, but struggled to find a drop-in class that would enable me to put LO to bed and get back home again before OH leaves for work when he's doing the night shift. It was sooooo nice to do something just for me :D I got home at 9pm, which is the latest I've been out since LO was born :rotfl:

I'm watching 16 kids and counting - one of the ladies is pregnant with child number 12, and here's me still not wanting a second one!

Hope everyone has a good night x

Morning ladies, well, A treated me to a good night last night by sleeping a straight 11 hrs. :D I'm almost ready to go, she's just having her morning milk and cuddle. As I was in bed just after 9 I had an excellent night too :)

Lazywife, hope T is a little better today. We had planned on swimming on Mon but I decided not to as she was being such a pickle. Glad he was better after a nap! And you got a break whilst he napped ;)

Nutella, yay for an evening out :D Don't tell anyone, but I am on birth control and not planning another just yet despite regular queries from my and OH's family... My mil has 14 children... I am not planning on following suit!

Have a good day all x

    Hi everyone.

Yay for the good night saffa - you had my sympathies. My lo has been up at night again too - definitely teeth in our case. Poor thing won't have solids much.

Struggling with weaning. He got his first bottom teeth (which are still stubs) and now I think it's his top teeth but for the last month we've had huge up and downs feeding as he is clearly uncomfortable and not up for chomping. He won't have purees as he likes to feed himself. I'd beaten that by giving him his own spoon but now he throws that on the floor and declines my efforts again!

The thing with his teeth that confuses me is sometimes he's up at night/refusing food but is happy and doesn't seem too distressed. He does this kind of grinding thing though and bites on his bib til he winces so I can tell he is teething. Does anyone find this - that baby still gets up/maybe won't eat even though they are not seemingly hurting badly?

    Evening everyone.

Seems time is going too quickly now. I officially have 1 more week of my maternity leave left from tomorrow .

My return date is Friday the 23rd but then it's May 1/2 term, so lo doesn't start nursery until 2nd June. Still though it's just gone too quickly. I haven't worked properly since last July as I work in a school so had all of last summer off as normal school holidays and then just did 2 training days at the start of the new school year. Cannot believe I haven't been in a classroom for such a long time.

LO is now in her own bedroom as well. We finally had our doors delivered so can now close off the hall to the bedrooms to stop the cats. Previously we closed the bedroom doors and that was fine when she was in our room but now she's not I have both bedroom doors open so we can hear her.

Thankfully she has gone okay. The 1st night though I was shattered, I just felt like I didn't sleep at all, just listening out for her. Was also kinda sad to not have her next to my side of the bed anymore.

LO also spent a whole 2 hrs away from me today. I did a free course called smart start to do with food and you got a free nursery place at the centre. Thankfully I've been a few times for baby groups so she knows the room. Kinda sad that her 1st time without her parents was at nursery setting instead of her grandparents but as most of you know they refuse to look after her as she's too little in their opinion to be away from us.

She went okay they said, was smiling and playing with the toys for a good 30 mins before she realised I wasn't in the room. Yes they said she cried but she soon calmed down, had her bottle and went to sleep, which didn't surprise me as she hadn't had a nap since 10am (it was 2pm at this stage). I'm glad I did it as sorta an ice breaker to when I do settling in periods during 1/2 term at her nursery.

Amelia now has her 2 top front teeth. They've only taken 18.5 months!

She's got all the other teeth around them, but the top 2 have been hiding. I wonder if she will still have a gorgeous little lisp :)

    Hope everyones ok x

    Evening ladies :)

Welcome and Congratulations to the newbies :D

Bangton, I have never been able to get A to sleep in a cot during the day; it is only in the past couple of months I've been able to get her to nap in the buggy during the day and I worked hard to get that to prepare her for nursery... I do still love her sleeping on me though :o

Yay for two top front teeth Cake!

Glad that you had the opportunity to leave LO with someone else for a short while CD, and that it went well. The first time A was left without OH or myself was at nursery during her settling in. Thankfully she seems to have settled in quite well.

My first day back yesterday was a bit of a laugh really - they were expecting me but computer access hadn't been arranged, no work phone was arranged, my induction - if arranged - wasn't shared with anyone else and my line manager was in meetings all day so I spent most of the day twiddling my thumbs as without being able to log onto the system couldn't even get appointments booked in for next week.
Last night A had a vomiting bug so I spent most of the night up with her, poor love, and had to take carer's leave today as couldn't send her into nursery. I felt so awful watching my little baby as there was nothing I could do. Thankfully today apart from a much reduced appetite, she has been her usual self so fingers crossed we won't have a repeat tonight.

Hope everyone else is well x
  • LO has just started being what I expected a baby to be - mostly happy and only getting up once in the night. I feel really in love with him now and like a mummy because I can comfort him if he's crying. I really miss him when I'm away from him, not just thinking thank goodness for the break. I'm just enjoying this phase before the next hurdle whatever it is - teething, sleep regression, mobilising...

welcome to the newbies and congratulations

cake hope littlie gets the cute lisp. No teeth here at 8 months!

CD hope you enjoy the last of your mat leave. I'm off nursery hunting soon for October!

saffa glad LO is sleeping better.

lazywife it is amazing what a nap does! a real jekyll and hyde.

Nutella glad you got back to Yoga, I really love it. I've heard someone call it 'loving your muscles'.
