Morning all
Katie and Sunshine, lovely to 'see' you both!
My LO's never had a bruise or graze or anything like that - is it a boy thing?... I would love to know the answer to the hat question though - my LO loves wearing her hat when *she* wants to wear it (when it's raining, when we're indoors) rather than when she actually needs it (we're in the park, it's sunny)We spent the whole of yesterday afternoon in the park - such lovely weather! She was running and climbing and playing in the sand pit and was completely worn out afterwards. We're off swimming in a bit, which is her new favourite thing - she talks about it all week
We're having major separation anxiety here - she's moving to the next room up at the nursery, and is struggling. She's so attached to her current key worker - who called me on Friday to say LO was screaming hysterically and would it be OK to take her out for a walk to calm her down? LO also suddenly won't settle at bedtime; she just wants to be held and cuddled, and it takes me ages to settle her, whereas up until last week I could just give her a kiss and say good night and that was it. She also cries when I leave the room or go to the looI know she'll adjust, but right now it's like going a year back in time, and I feel so bad for her, as well as her new key worker.
Anyway, hope everyone has a lovely (injury-free) day in the sun!0 -
Following along the sun theme - any tips on getting a 2yo to wear a hat?! He just rips it off his head as soon as I put it on...
Snap! Mine is 7 months though so not a chance of reasoning with him. In the end a backwards baseball cap worked for us yesterday! If we tried it the other way he just yanked it off. Those floppy sun hats. .. No chance! He was the same in winter. . One day at about 4 months he learnt to take his hat off and that was that he hates hats!0 -
That's a good point actually - back to front baseball caps work here too - if they belong to daddy and are a million sizes too big!0

morning
Sunshine my LO loves cbeebies so was thinking about going to Alton Towers for that, but can't see the point of paying for rides - we'd have to go on them on our own whilst other one looks after bubs.
My LO hates hats too and grumbles. They do stay on tho.
Katie hope you have fun with the new addition.
Saffa hope you get better soon. I dread feeling poorly with a little un.
Bangton are you still feeling better?
Nutella hope your LO feels better about separation soon. It's horrible to see them so upset. My LO is OK but I'm starting to get separation anxiety from him!0 -
Why oh why are Clarks doodle sandals so ugly?....
I know they're washable and comfortable and absolutely the sensible choice (we had a pair last year which lasted all summer and on holiday in October), and I *will* be buying a pair, but boo to the way they look!
Rant over. I should be grateful we're finally approaching the sandal season rather than moaning about it0 -

Hi ladies!
My little boy is 3 months old today - where did that time go?! He's doing chunks of awake and asleep time and is really interested in the world and smiley when he is awake. He's also doing big chunks of sleep at night so I'm only normally having to get up to him once for refuelling [watch him have a sleep regression/development leap/growth spurt now I've said that!]
With hats the baby hasn't worked out how to get them off yet. Our 2 year old is obsessed with her minnie mouse hat - so as sunshine already said try looking for one with them that they can get excited about.:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

DS hates wearing his hat and sunscreen but being so pale I don't give him a choice. If he won't wear his hat then he gets shut in the house by himself. It took a few times of doing this, with him in hysterics, but now if I remind him the hat stays on.
We always follow through with our threats. It really annoys me when parents don't. For example at a recent party a mum kept telling her son that if he hit DS 'one more time, I'll take you home' She never even made out like she was getting ready to go so the boy kept being horrible, DS was in tears and I spent the rest of the party stressed...grrrrr.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

A is a little accident prone still; she tripped last weekend which resulted in a large bruise on her cheek! OH was not pleased to have to take her to nursery with it... but at the moment she topples over at least once or twice a day.
We're meant to be going to the inlaws for dinner tonight - am trying to get OH to go on his own with A but he's reluctant. I think it is about time!0 -
Thanks ladies for your comments on sun creams.
Hope you are all having a lovely day in the sun, we've been to the coast but it's not warm there so came home and it's lovely. (NW England)
Lo is hopefully going through a phase of not wanting anything on his hands, grass, food etc. he would rather fall on his face than put his hands out to stop him! Really funny!Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0
