Fran-o, I have the same problem with engorgement but I know from bf my daughter that it does get better with time! Meanwhile I don't have any brighter suggestions than expressing a bit if you wake up uncomfortable.
When he does feed I try and make sure he takes at least a bit from side 2 so the pressure is off a little! I especially make sure he does that on the left as I sleep on my left side...:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

congratulations lao_cat
LO still suffering with constipation - he was doing so well with BLW but now I feel bad that he's eating so much that it's causing him pain. I tried gicing him a pear but it was too hard for him. I'll have to be prepared next meal time and microwave or boil it. I'm gonna keep massaging his tummy too fingers crossed. I can't believe how much he is pooing!0 -
Be nice I would stew the pears and give them to him on a pre-loaded spoon, that has worked for us. I would also give it to him in the morning to give it time to work. Do you give him water with his meals? That def helped get things going for C, I give it to him from a plastic shot glass and a cheap ikea sippy cup which seems to work for him.
I would also stick to fruits and vegetables till it pass ans leave things like breads/oats did a little while. Apparantely banannas csn also cause constipation and C use to have a pain in his tummy after eating them.
HTH I found it improved pretty quickly I just thing it is their systems adjusting to the food intake!0 -
I have a wedding to go to this afternoon - lovely day for it!
Will be the first time I have been away from my little boy for more than 15 mins. He's staying with daddy for 3 hours or so and I'll probably not know what to do with myself even with all the busy going on!:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Enjoy crabapple, it's very weird feeling.
I was out from 11am - 6pm yesterday with a friend shopping and hubby looked after LO. It was so strange not pushing a pram and being able to walk into a place to eat and later for a coffee and just sit anywhere without eyeing up a route 1st, lol.
That's the longest I have been away from her, before it's been for only a few hrs. She was in bed when I got home but woke up when she heard me talking to my hubby (only live in a flat), went into the bedroom and got the biggest smile from her. I walked back out but she wasn't impressed so picked her up, had a few moments with her and put her back down and she was happy then and went back to sleep.
Hubby had a hard day he said :rotfl: and didn't get anything done that he wanted to. He said LO cried every time he was out of her sight and she kept looking at the door for me walking back in.
Sorta felt guilty for going but then thought no, she's 6 1/2 mths old and I'm back to work beginning of June so it's better she's with her dad to start off with when I go places before also getting used to the child minder.
lao-cat congrats on the new job :TMummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Morning everyone
hope you all had a decent nights. Nutella et al Thanks for info on meals at nursery. I'll have to check tea but it sounds pretty standard and I hope it's the same with mine! !
went to sundown adventure park yest with brother, his children and lo. It was lovely but unfortunately I became secretly annoyed at the end because we didn't leave till after 5 and its over an hour from home. I tried to say at 3.30 I could do with getting off but I was ignored. It was great til then but lo missed his tea and bedtime so everything was out of whack and he wouldn't go down easy like usual. I spent all day flapping about the sun and trying to keep lo in the shade and reapplying suncream too!!
In the end I felt I shouldn't have gone really as we pretty much need to be home at 5 wherever we go. It's not fair on the children and I felt guilty to my lo and guilty to my nephew/neice too!!
Anyway I have some mums coming today. I said I'd do lunch but wish I hadn't as I had no time to go Get anything in yest and I sure as hell don't this morning! !!
Have a good day all xx0 -
Enjoy the wedding crabapple
Bangton I know exactly how you feel, I now tell people when they invite us place yes but I need to be home at x o'clock. My bro invited us for dinner tomorrow and I responded yeah but we need to eat 5. People whose children are older or who don't have babies just need a gentle reminder that babies need their routine0 -

I'm feeling your pain bangton and lao_cat. There are some things that are just not worth doing with babies, and long days like theme parks, zoos, and mammoth shopping trips are all out after babies stop sleeping all the time!
I'd better go and tidy up before OH comes home and asks what I've been doing all day
bring on school next week is all I can say. At least with it being nice the older children can go out and play but it's still been a long 2 weeks and there's been a lot of other stressful things going on as well.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Congratulations lao_cat!
We had an odd sort of day today... OH is ill and must be feeling really poorly as he let me book him and take him to the GP this morning. Poor thing! So he's been lounging around all day wanting A to keep quiet?!?
Luckily we had baby group this afternoon so were out for a couple hours
Have a lovely long weekend everyone x0
