I think your boss was very wise to tell you to think things through when you haven't got the pressures of work, money saving, holiday planning going on. When you say she was shocked about what you've been doing the past two years is that your work or super-duper money saving? Am hoping it's your MSE skills, and not that she has no idea about your work (hands off managing)!!
Happy shopping for sandals and rucksacks. The shoes look great - perfect travelling gear. I like the blue but I agree the earth brown colour are great and will hide dust well. I'm very sad that they don't go up to a size 9! I do love how durable Merrells are - just replaced a pair of walking shoes after 9 years of hard grafting."Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

Hello AllyBee.... the boss was shocked about the moneysaving. She only came to this office 3-4 months ago and I don't really know her that well. I only came into this office last October and since the MSE was well under way didn't think to tell anyone... but she was amazed at how much I have cleared and saved respectively... So yes I will have a think about it when I get home home...
Those sandals are now out of a size NSK 8 so I need to wait until they restock until I buy but yes I like the style as it's not to clunky (TEVA ..? ) and would still look cute under long baggy linen (style) trousers...
Gonna just email them for a re-stock date cause I want to wear them in.“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Sorry just need to post this....:j:j:j It's FRIDAY!!!!! :j:j:j
25 working days until I finish work for good.
:T:T:T That's exactly 5 weeks today! :T:T:T“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Hi NSK
Have you taken into account the Bank Holiday as that would mean 24 working days (my finish date id 49 working days until redundance and possible semi retirement :j )
As with the others I would go with the brown sandals. Hope they are back in stock soon.
Chez x
Edited to say I've just realised you work so many extra shifts that the 25 days was problably understated anyway :rotfl:That money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"0 -
Hello CEW - yes I already took that into account.
Oooooh redundancy sounds good!!! There is a rumor of it in my building but how true it is is another thing...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Redundancy for me is good. Had to fight a little to get it then found out I will get 6 weeks extra in lieu of notice that I didn't expect as I have had at least 12 weeks notice but I'm not arguing.
Will spend a chunk of the money on doing up a property I own that has been rented out to a friend for a few years (was supposed to be a short term arrangement) then sell that and do up our main home then sell and move to our dream home with land for the animals :T
Will then be debt AND mortgage free with 1 property still out on rent for income. Looks like I made a good call a few years back when I opted to invest in property instead of making extra contributions to my pension fund. Although I will be a couple of years out on my original plans to retire at 50 :rotfl:
Have a great weekend

Where would your dream home be?
Can you believe my sandals are not available in my size in the brown. They are not being remade until NEXT YEAR! AM so annoyed! Should have bought them when I first saw them but they were't important back then! Grr!
So back to the drawing board or I get the light blue ones....?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
We currently live down South but would be looking to go up North a bit. The main reasons for this are:
1) Most of my family have moved away in the last 10 years or so - they say is's nothing personal :rotfl: OH's family are also dispersed around the UK.
2) My DD and OH's 2 kids are now grown up and living in 3 different counties around the country
3) We have family reasonably close so would not be completely cut off.
4) You get a lot more for your money. 4 bed detached 2.5 acres of land and a swimming pool (for medical reasons you understand) for less than we can sell our 3 bed semi for here :j
The plan is to live a much simpler life, grow some of our own food and look after our animals, adding a few more along the way.
Shame about the sandals but the blue or the wine ones will also go with most things and will look stunning. The pink may be a bit too light.
