So far this holiday has been good. I am feeling very positive - getting out and seeing my best mate this afternoon was great. Poor girl had to listen to me for quite a bit!
(have just realised Radioactive man is meant to be Iron man, am a bit slow)
Tonight I want to do some prep for work.
Tomorrow I am going to finish my bit of the garden and go to work.
None of payments have gone through cos it is Bank holiday and
I need to know how much I owe on my Amazon card........
on the plus side. Malteasers!
Edited to add, This getting paid a week earlier is ok but a bit confusing, have paid off my Amazon spends card - 100 EEk tho some of it is regular Gp stuff.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -

yes I know what you mean. I am hoping that letting the grass grow over the flowerbed will mean less work. Cutting another square foot of grass is less work than weeding. I am entertaining the idea of covering the remaining flowerbed with membrane and then gravel to limit weeds. not sure I would like the look. Still the rest of it will be easier.
Doing my patch makes the rest of it seem not so impossible. Especially since I spent money on a gardener last year so really can't let the garden get into a state again.
I might buy myself some naff garden ornaments tomorrow. You have been warned!

I have the membrane down & still get weeds.

I too have the membrane plus weeds. They are easier to uproot. My local council periodically gives out free compost it gets through recycling garden waste, Christmas trees etc. maybe check if yours does this Buffy.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Morning.
Well I went out to the garden this morning put a little fence thing up and was going to carry on but it rained and I got hungry!
I am SO cheap when I edged my pond (imagine an overly large bucket) I laid bin liners instead of the membrane which worked brilliantly - I had to redo the edge of it but I am very pleased with it. It is cheaper than the really expensive membrane that my bil made my mum buy (which hasn't worked so well!) however I did discover in the Factory shop that they do cheap stuff!
I can't remember if I have bored you with the fact that I paid off my spends on the Tesco's card and the Amazon card - bit difficult to tell since the Amazon one hasn't updated? but anyhow current debt stands are 4108.95
I am going to make a payment of 208.95 I think but not till all my payments have gone out.
To be debt free I would need to pay 650 each month.
I think that is doable.....
Edited to add, I have paid back "present" money for various family spends.
and had some money paid back to me too! so once the dust settles at the end of next week I might be able make a decent payment off the CC.
Feeling in control is very important to me....hmm. This has made me happy- the garden, fine tooth combing of finances. Weird how I ended up in debt!

Haha, that's hilarious. :rotfl:
My ex had some of these in the garden of the house he was living in when I first met him. :eek:I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. What about bark chippings if you're not sure you'd like the look of gravel?
A decent layer will inhibit the weeds even without the membrane, but when I've done it, I've used both to keep them to a bare minimum. The weeds that do grow will be from seeds that have blown/dropped on the top, and will have shallow weeds because of the membrane, so will be nice and easy to pull out. I bleeping hate digging out weeds with huge roots.I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland.
