My hamster is lucky to be alive. she woke me up at 3.37 because she put lots of food in her wheel and then ran on the wheel.
The noise made was hugely impressive from such a tiny creature. Really. On one level I should be proud she is such a busy industrious little bee.
On another level she should be stuffed and mounted.
Scared the absolute crap out of me, wondered what was happening!!! horrid bolt upright in bed heart thumping. little cowbag.
The weird thing is she used to do it a lot - when I was at work, and I woke up but it was much less shocking - same noise. But I think cos I was gardening for the last few days apart from yesterday I slept LOADS better (physical exercise)
and wasn't as stressed so slept more deeply. weird.
have the most appalling headache now. Might go back to bed.
am having lunch with my friend today. so can't nap for long.
catch you all later
(also I want to go to Paris and I was looking last night at 3 days away in July, for 350, freakily one of my friends has gone for a weekend today to Paris
Anyhow would it be doable on my own? I feel like an adventure and so long as the hotel had a bar/restaurant I think I would be ok? Opinions.
and oh, I can't technically afford it as yet....)Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
I don't have a passport otherwise I'd volunteer to carry your suitcase.I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. Look at coach trips, normally cheaper and very easy to do alone, you also tend to get chatting to others which gives you that bit of reassurance that you're not quite on your own.
As for the hamster - stuffed and mounted sounds like an option. I might do that with DD1 - she came storming into the bedroom at 2am to declare there was a spider bigger than anything she'd ever seen before in her room and she couldn't sleep knowing it was there. She said it all so loudly and quicky and woke me so suddenly my heart was pounding......took me ages to get back to sleep afterwards (blimey spiders can run fast).
How's the decoration plans coming?

Hi Buffy! A solo trip is do-able. No one would bat an eyelid at you wandering about shops/art galleries/whatever by yourself. And at night you could get room service and watch TV, put your feet up and relax. Sounds heavenly. Downside is no one to say "look at that" to.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

I have done similar to my Mumalthough generally I go sleep on the v uncomfortable sofa.
I did the garden, figuring that I should do it before it is too late. I feel the decorating might happen in the break now.

Hiya lovely xxx Catch up properly with your diary over the weekend - just will say that I've been on a few weekend breaks on my own and loved them all and last year I had a week in Ibiza on my own and it was ace.
I've been to Paris armed with a bad bad knowledge of GCSE French and honestly barely used it.

Hiya Buffy
I can't comment on Paris specifically, never been, but a few days away on your own are perfectly do-able. I've been to Singapore and Bangkok for a few days on my own. Bangkok was most recent - I wandered around taking in the sites, in the evening I mostly went to shopping malls and had a meal there as I felt less self conscious eating on my own. Then I'd potter round the shops. In Singapore I just ate out on my own with a book and was fine.
GxThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0
