"Bottom line is, even if you see 'em coming, you're not ready for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it does. So what are we, helpless? Puppets? No. The big moments are gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's when you find out who you are.”
Joss Whedon (Script from Buffy)

A new diary! As an old timer who has dealt with her debts once I hoped never to have to do this again but life being life here I am again.
I got out of debt in June 2011. I had a loan back then which I over paid and finished over a year early. I then borrowed 7000 pounds in December 2012 to pay for my Masters, some work on the house, medical stuff and a car and have only paid off 2400 this year. It is on a 0% cc so I haven’t been focussed at all.
I gave my notice in on my nightmare job this year and this has slowly slowly helped me feel better about things although moneywise it is interesting as part of the money I had borrowed is now my emergency fund as my new job is not permanent. I am only working till July and it is a lower rate of pay.
Unfortunately, my beloved car is on his last legs. So now I am faced with having to buy a car. I toyed with the idea of borrowing more but hate the thought so am using my emergency fund and going to be as tight as I can and earn as much as I can to make sure I have an emergency fund by July.
Currently the debt stands at 4500 (paid off 100 pounds today!)
My goals for 2014 are
1. Finish and submit my dissertation
2. Finish my Tefl course
3. Pay off the credit cards - £4500
4. Declutter and reorganise the whole house.
5. Save 5000.
6. Be good at my job - be organised, confident.
7. Get and keep a boyfriend. a honest loyal tall funny kind solvent man.
8. Loose two stone.
9. Complete a half marathon
10. Drive on the motorway
11. Make and keep male friends
12. Write. everyday.
Long term am debating between a house, travel or 3 months off work....
