I know we don't get photos of this early scan, but do you reckon they will let me take a snap with my mobile?0

T2D, my Mum had a stitch in both her successful pregnancies with my sister and I and says that a stitch is exactly like you described. She had the stitch done after having two miscarriages previously. She says whilst unpleasant whilst being done, it's not an issue once it's in. Given your situation I don't see what their logic would be for not putting one in!
Daisiegg, glad to see you brightening up!You CAN do it, just keep reminding yourself of that.
Laila, so thrilled your scan went well today! :T Also good for you to have your booking appointment so soon afterwards so you can ask your questions while they're still fresh.
Edit: WTDN: At my first early scan I didn't get a photo, but in my follow ups (3 others) I have been given photos at each one. If you don't get offered, always ask for a copy or opportunity to take a photo yourself!

Congrats Laila! Great news!
I can't wait for my scan on Sunday (private)...hopefully seeing a beating heart (fingers crossed) will be amazing
t2d I think you are right about going out. We only have one car at the moment (have bought another one but not getting it for a few weeks) so the last few days I have had no car because I have been too sick to drive hubby to the station in the morning at 5am. I am going to definitely drive him tomorrow and have the car so I can go into town. Got lots of clothes to return.
Has anyone thought about buying any maternity clothes yet? I know it is really early but my tummy is definitely bigger (I'm sure just bloating!) so I ordered some leggings and tunic tops in a size 16 (normally a 14). Big mistake - the leggings are lovely and comfy on my tummy but all baggy and wrinkly on my legs - bad look! - and the dresses are huge and make me look like I am in a sack. I wonder whether I need to start thinking about maternity clothes to accommodate my fat gut but not hang off the rest of me. That feels like a scary step to take though and way too early! What does everyone else think?0 -
congrats laila! so glad your scan went well and you got to see your bean x
Hugs for feeling carp daisiegg it's awful cos nobody in their right mind would be happy about feeling so terrible but you feel guilty for not being "super happy" about things. Just remember it doesn't last forever and it should start gradually easing off for you before too long x
Hugs to all x0 -
Laila, so happy to hear that your scan went well.
DS was sick again last night at 10.30pm. He thoroughly coated himself and his bed, then wouldn't re-settle so stayed in our bed until 1am. tried to get him back to his room but just got shouts of 'Mumum' so I had to make up the spare bed (in his room) and sleep in there, shushing him back to sleep whenever he woke. One random shout was 'teapot', strange child.
So... currently very sleep deprived, very busy at work trying to catch up after my day off ill. On top of that my Nan is in hospital. She's 91 and has some kind of mystery bug - not eating, not drinking, throwing up green bile, and can't walk. Just wants to sleep. She's on a drip while they try and work out what's wrong with her and how they can help. She's 2 hours away so definitely didn't catch it from us!
Then my Dad gave me a lift into work this morning (DH took our car for MOT - it failed) and a taxi reversed into his car while he was parked. Dad's car is fairly new and he couldn't find the horn in time - washing the windscreen just didn't work to alert the other driver. No major damage, just a scratch on the wing as far as we could see. Sigh. Hoping that there can't be any more things to go wrong this week!0 -
have they said they will do anything special due to the LLETZ? I had surgery which is like a massive LLETZ (much bigger) and have basically no cervix so I will need a stitch put in. Have they said anything like that for you?
She didn't say but I will speak to the midwife tomorrow and ask. From what I have read I think a LLETZ shouldn't need a stitch but I will definitely ask the question.
daisiegg Look forward to hearing how your scan goes and I am sure it will be amazing! In regards to maternity clothes, I am just living in leggings at the moment due to bloating. I can't even entertain the idea of my jeans right now but I might get one of those bump band things later on so I can just wear them undone.0 -

I just get rather bloated, it is usually at night but yesterday I had to unbutton my trousers at work! My trousers fit perfectly in the morning but by the evening when I unbutton them they are about 4 inch away from fastening!
I had a quick glance at maternity trousers and they do tend to be quite baggy on the legs. I am going to get some of those belly belt extenders for the next few month.0 -
Congrats Laila P and T2D
I am bleeding a little bit more today, combined with the clots I have had over the last few days I am convinced I'm miscarry ing. Not sure if it's worth going to epu earlier than Monday as not sure if they'll be able to see what's happeningRemember to always be yourself-unless you suck. Joss Whedon0
