I know. I can't understand what has happened. She only had the et on Tuesday. Presumably she is taking the progesterone. Maybe it needs to start earlier. So sad for her.

God I'm so tired. Just want to fall asleep on my desk. I'm not sure I can survive the next two hours!

Ok well mw appointment was interesting. She didn't really seem to know what she was doing, didn't have the right paperwork (stickers...she didn't have stickers and couldn't do anything without stickers...apparently they are very important?!) so I think I had sort of half of a booking in appointment.

She took some history, did blood pressure (fine), weighed me (which she said was fine - after me being worried she barely mentioned it - apparently their cut off point for worry is 35 and it is under 35 so it still puts me at low risk!) I had to do a urine sample to test for protein and glucose, which I assume was fine as she didn't say anything about it after doing it. She said I was low risk so will be able to give birth in the midwife led unit. I was surprised at that as I did think my weight would be a problem but like I said she barely mentioned it.

I have another appointment in 3 weeks. It is on a Friday morning, when I have work,..but apparently that is their only clinic hours of the week. I am worried about asking for the time off because I only work part time so really should be able to manage medical appointments outside of my working hours - but if that is when the clinic is,that is when it is I guess! Are work allowed to make a fuss about antenatal appointments? Something makes me think they have to let me go to them?

I also got a big pack of stuff, lots of forms, a form for prescription exemption, loads of leaflets and stuff. I haven't looked properly through it all yet and weirdly I don't have any desire to...it just feels a bit overwhelming. I might wait until hubby is home and look through it together.

I asked her about diarrhoea - she said it is perfectly normal and can be a side effect of folic acid. Asked her about the cramps I have been having and she said some cramping is normal, but if I bleed or ever think it is bad, go straight to A&E.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. I am knackered now, despite sleeping a lot better last night. Lazy evening for me I think!

Your employer must give you PAID time off for antenatal appointments. Please see the link below.

I know that although they HAVE to, it does not stop you feeling bad about it. I am the same, I have used holiday days so far as it is easier then having to come back after the apt. which I would feel obliged to do but many wouldn't.

I am fed up of having lazy evenings but when I get home from work, I am so tired I am unable to move from the sofa!

    Hey daisi

It's is every employee's right to have paid time off for antenatal appts. Your HR policy should reflect this. If up get any bother refer them to the government pages on it:

I am a teacher so we can't take holiday and really we are not meant to have time off for medical appointments - I guess they figure we can do them in half term or at a push could get away for an appointment at 4.30pm or something. But I guess antenatal appointments are different. Thanks xx

I had very light brown spotting again this morning. This might just be what happens to me. I wish it didn't though. My boobs are still tender so that's a good sign. I've booked myself in to see the counsellor before next weeks scan.
