daisegg I certainly feel like that - does not really seem 'real'. Can't put my finger on it really. I deffo think seeing something on the scan will help with that!
Feel slightly nauseous this morn.0 -
When I saw my mw I was really surpised that she didn't pg test. Asked her why and she said that home pg tests are as good as the hospital ones. I laughed and said how did she know I wasn't being a fake pregnancy infertile crank and she said because she could see how stressed I was about it all that it was definitely real. I asked her if it was normal to be so so dding anxious about the whole thing and she said it definitely was. I saw the heartbeat on my private scan and it still doesn't feel real! Talked to my mil about it (she's a mw too) and she just said how normal that is and that it doesn't feel real until all of a sudden it's super real!
Oh wants me to book another private scan to try and stop me freaking out but I don't see the point. It's only reassuring for that snapshot in time. I'm incredibly anxious about 12 week scan and it's still 3.5 weeks away. Short of walking around with an internal u/s wand I think i'm just going to be a nightmare for the next few weeks! Poor oh. Lol.
Anxiety not helped by the fetal medical unit secretary ringing me to let me know consultant wants to see me earlier than the 16 weeks initially mentioned for my unicornuate uterus. Either she didn't think we'd get pregnant so just said 16 weeks to shut me up at the time or maybe they're worried about it all. Or maybe i'm just being incredibly irrational*

Daisy, at the moment my diet is shocking. I just want plain starchy food as all the flavoursome things I usually love are making me feel awful. Mind you, no matter what I eat I feel queasy afterwards...
My BMI was 30.03 at my appt and the midwife didn't really condemn me for it. She did say that it was just on the high side but didn't sit there wagging her finger at me. They're not there to judge so don't be too worried about it.0 -

Mine is higher than thatabout 33 by my weighing myself naked first thing in the morning before food but if the mw weighs me in clothes towards the end of the day after eating and drinking all day it will be more than that! Boo. Will just have to say I am aware that it is not good, I know what healthy eating is and I will do my absolute best to eat as well as possible and exercise as much as I can, and I will attend any extra appointments they deem necessary and follow all the medical advice to the letter. Not much more I can do now. It would have been better to have lost weight before falling pregnant but we genuinely did not expect it to happen so soon so I thought I would have lots of time to lose weight (NOT that I am complaining - please don't hate me).

From what others have said I don't think you have to worry too much about the mw giving you a telling off. The mw I saw and from other opinions on here all mw's seem lovely
Btw, you do have to give a urine sample at your booking apt. so perhaps do not try and do a big wee before going in.0 -

Thanks - I don't think this is actually my booking in appointment, because it is too early (I am only 6+6) but I am not sure. Don't really know what this appointment is tbh! I will make sure I could wee if I needed to though lol.0 -
I went on Tuesday to the maternity hospital where I shall be having scans/care and finally the baby to give another blood sample. It was really strange being there. All the other ladies were there having scans with their partners and I did feel quite jealous! I also felt odd not being with my oh.
The lady I saw does not think I have Thalassemia, owing to the facts that firstly I am white British and secondly because of the pattern of my previous blood result. She suspects it is just extremely low iron and was surprised I had not been passing out! My oh is having his taken tonight at our local GP.
The lack of sleep I am getting is now starting to take its toll! I can only sleep between 10pm and about 12.30am and then I am awake from then until 10 minutes before my alarm goes off when suddenly I could sleep for years! It has been like this for weeks now. I am not worried about anything particularly and when I am awake things aren't going through my mind so I am not sure what it is.0 -
Peonie, I am glad you bleeding has stopped now. I am surprised how many of you have experience bleeding, though I do know my Cousin had bleeding throughout both of her pregnancies for no known reason and they both lasted full term and was perfectly healthy.0

Peonie, I'm glad the bleeding has stopped.
Daisie, unlike Jen I didn't have to give a urine sample at my booking in appointmet, though they did give me my 'one and only' pot to wee in for next time. They never seem to give you a new one around here, just return it after they've checked it, so I have to try not to lose it!
Jen, good news about the Thallassemia. Hope they sort out your iron levels soon! I was on iron tablets after having DS and didn't get on with them at all (digestive system really didn't like it, to put it nicely) but iron liquid was much better for me.0 -

Thank you Bluebell
Just the one pot?! They are awful things to pee in to. I would have used a plastic cup at home but in the surgery I had to resort to wrapping it in tissue to avoid wetting the label :rotfl:0
