Apart from the 1 time, all I seem to do is retch but I wonder if I would feel better if I was properly sick, it might give me some relief if even only for a bit.
I can stop your wondering- it doesn't give you any relief! It's worse! My friend asked me that who had bad nausea but no vomiting and I said trust me there is no relief at all! I would have gladly swapped places!
Peonie I hope the spotting stops. The drs told me brown is old but I know it's impossible not to worry.0 -

Ah ok, sorry to hear you are suffering. Hope the vomiting stops soon (and doesn't start for me then)0 -
I kept my dinner down tonight...woo! Small victories0

I hope it doesn't start for you! I think if it will it starts pretty soon though so you're probably clear! At least it did for me. I felt sick for about 24 hours at 5 weeks, then started vomiting the next day. In my previous pregnancy I was ok, got to 6 weeks and just woke up and puked. So hopefully if you've been feeling ill for a while it means it's not going to happen!I'm 34 weeks now so thankfully not vomiting anymore it stopped at 21 weeks, but thought I'd stop you wondering! One thing that might help is to sniff something you like the smell of as well as the old eating little & often thing. Nothing worked for me but I think it's worth trying everything even if it's just to distract yourself!
Daisie glad your appt went well!0 -
Stupid question- is anyone feeling uncomfortable in their normal clothes? I'm now 8+4 and i daren't put my normal button jeans on as anything tight on my stomach makes the nausea/ (tmi) diaorrhea worse and tbh i'm not sure they'd fit anyway. I don't want to buy mat clothes this early, partly for superstition and mainly because I have to change in communal areas everyday in work and if I'm wearing mat pants it'd be quickly noticed- i want to get as far along as possible with the bare minimum of people knowing! I think it's from years of infertility- just don't want to rub it in anyones faces! Sounds stupid but there's at least one woman I work with who is having a ttc nightmare and I don't want to upset her as she's lovely.
I'm not really a dress sort of girl and my job is definitely more of a trouser environment with constant bending and lifting etc. I don't know what to do! I just can't stand having any pressure on my belly at the moment. Any ideas ladies?0 -

I had a trouser crisis around the same stage-I had been wearing my pre diet work trousers and one day they just wouldn't fasten. Anything putting pressure on my tummy made me feel really sick and sore. I went into work and asked to get away for an hour and quickly just got a next size up pair of trousers, but ordered maternity ones when I got home. I was lucky in that my line manager knew that I was pregnant and let me away with murder the first wee while.0 -
I saw some mat jeans in h&m the other day that were really nice it's just the band (that lovely over the bump, looks so comfy, band) that makes them obviously mat pants that worries me as my colleagues will definitely see it. They looked so comfy- I was nearly crying leaving the shop without them. Oh was howling laughing at my near hormonal meltodown over domfy looking jeans! At the moment i'm wearing some baggy leggings that go over my belly and a jersey dress of my mums that is a size too big. My stomach feels so sore and bloated. Thing is it's really not practical for work. Does the bloating go or is this it from here on in? Just wondering if I can tolerate it if it does go away... If that makes sense?
Also does anyone know when you can apply for the mat exemption certificate? My gums have been bleeding for a couple of weeks and I think i'm best having a check up before all my peggies fall out or something.0 -
The bloating did settle, but then started being a proper bump, which wasn't as tender as the bloating, but still not comfy being squished, if that makes sense. I cannot describe the joy and relief I felt when I started to wear maternity jeans and work trousers.
I don't know about the exemption certificate as I'm in Scotland, but someone will know soon0 -
Hmmm, seems I may have to bite the bullet then and try to avoid changing in front of people... Seems daft to buy bigger pants that won't last me anyway. Will trawl websites for least mat looking jeans I can find! Thanks for your help!0

I got given the form yesterday at my first midwife appointment. They need to sign and stamp it for you and you post it off. I can't remember, have you had an appointment yet?0
