Less than 12 weeks pregnant club! Part 4!!

I have my scan on the 23rd November.
The original appointment was 1st December but, as it was at 3pm and I need to collect my daughter from school, I had to ask for an earlier appointment. I think the booking lady may have misunderstood as she told me the earliest they scan in our area is from 11+1, but I'm happy to be seeing the little one sooner!
Booking appointment with the midwife is next Tuesday, after I had my bloods done.
I was speaking to my OH earlier and said it feels strange to be having a scan without having had the pregnancy confirmed by the Drs/midwife before that. It almost doesn't seem real... save for the constant eating and nausea!0 -
My booking in appointment is next Wednesday (I'll be 8+6) with the midwife at the GP surgery. I'm assuming they sort out the scan appointment at that point, although I didn't ask. When I rang the GP the receptionist just said "I'll book you in with the midwife at 8 weeks" and didn't mention scan.
I don't think it'll feel quite real until I'm registered in the system, despite all my horrid nausea and heartburn. On the plus side, one thing I definitely didn't need to worry about (at least not at this point) was excess weight gain! I've lost 3lb since my BFP.Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!0 -
In our area, the scan appointment is triggered by the booking appointment and is sent by the midwife unit in the post0

In my area the midwife rings the hospital during the booking appointment to book your scan, and then you get a letter afterwards.0

My midwife left me a voicemail with my scan date on it when she had called to make the booking appointment.0

I find a Zantac tablet seems to sort my heartburn at he moment0

Hello ladies... tentatively joining this thread as I got a BFP yesterday after 18 months of trying! I was due to have a HSG scan on Friday to see if there was a problem with my tubes and I only did the test to confirm I wasn't pregnant after having what was an ultra-light AF (pretty much just spotting) so I'm in quite a bit of shock too! I was convinced we were out this month as OH had been working away around OV but tested again this morning and it came up BFP almost straight away!! I think I'm 4+1
In June I had a CP at around 3 weeks (didn't even know that was possible - I didn't know I was PG as too early and went to A&E with suspected appendicitis and it turned out to be a CP on CD21!) so OH & I are being very subdued about it all and trying not to get giddy as we've had quite a few friends miscarry.
I've had to tell my boss already as my job involves quite a bit of lifting and carrying, and we're having a meeting tomorrow to make a plan for what I can/can't do.
No symptoms other than sore/big boobs which OH is already loving
Eeeeeeeek exciting times!!!0 -
Oh Roz that's lovely news. I'll keep everything crossed for you for a smooth 9 months.0

Congratulations Roz
Up here, I had an initial appointment with the midwife at about 7 weeks, my booking in appointment at 9 weeks, and then my scan date came through a day or two later. Scan date is still 2 weeks away. I'm just willing on time to pass, I don't think it will all sink in until I see it for myself.0 -
Just to share another experience - I'm Nottinghamshire and was referred straight to midwife, had booking appointment at 10 weeks (partly my choice due to previous early miscarriage) then scan date came in the post a week or so later for 13+1.Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 20170
