Hi ladies. I'm tentatively introducing myself to this thread. I found out yesterday I am pregnant again after losing my baby Poppy in November. I'm hoping this baby will be my rainbow baby but am very anxious about how this pregnancy will go. We found out at the 12 week scan that Poppy had an encephalocele and wouldn't live, and she was born at 14 weeks gestation.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Aw Mouse! This is the best news!!! Keeping everything crossed that this is your time, you deserve it!
An emotional weekend for us....we woke up on Sunday morning and decided to just go for it and tell our parents! It was the year anniv of my dad's cancer being diagnosed and I guess I just wanted everyone to focus on positive instead of marking that anniversary. So we loaded some of out early scan pics onto our phones and did the rounds. Lots of tears (happy ones) and everyone was pretty shocked as we hadn't told them we were even thinking about it.
They've all been given strict instructions not to tell a soul until the 12 week scan (2 weeks today!) but it feels so lovely to have finally told them!0 -
So happy to see you here Sexymouse. Congratulations and wishing a very happy and healthy pregnancy :j
I survived the wedding with no suspicions. My OH told one of the couples as he was overcome with excitement and so they both supported me in the shot rounds and drinking games by just missing me out (the guy usually doesn't take no for an answer). I just stood with a champagne flute or wine glass in my hand at all times, took the odd sip when people were chatting to me and for the toast. I poured some down the toilet () at one point to make it look like I was drinking it. Then on the evening I changed to lemonade and lime which worked a treat. It was all much easier than I thought and the wedding was amazing0 -
That's lovely that everyone was so pleased for you pinkpetal. I hope the next 2 weeks pass quickly for you. How many weeks were you when you had your early scan if you don't mind me asking? Was it privately or through the hospital?
I'm glad you survived the wedding Rachylou - I have one to go to in a couple of weeks too, but one of the side effects since having Poppy has been that I have become completely intolerant to wine - even sips (pre this pregnancy) made me get terrible tummy ache and feel really ill, and the bride knows this as I wasn't drinking the wine at her hen-do, so hopefully I'll get away with it at her wedding. She asked me via a facebook message last night if there was any baby news, and I diverted by talking about the wedding.
This morning I've called the GP and also my consultant's secretary to inform them of the pregnancy as I'll hopefully be given a scan at 10 weeks due to my loss, so need to be in the system early. My actual GP appointment is this afternoon. Eek!
I've been trying to distract myself from worrying by trying to shop for car insurance this morning, which takes forever, but is a necessary chore. I managed to get my quote down by just over £50, so that helps a bit financially. I'm glad I went to the effort to shop around and then call them up too. There's the MSEr in me.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
We were 9 weeks when we had the early scan mouse, would probably have had it slightly earlier but we were on holiday the week before and I didn't want to go much earlier than that as I wanted to see a heartbeat. It was amazing, the heartbeat was so clear and it was jumping about and moving it's wee tiny arm buds. We did it privately but it was only £37...and so worth it!
Glad you survived the wedding rachy! SOunds like you had a great time! I have yet another night out to get through on friday, it's a belated b'day pressie for me and my two best mates are taking me for dinner and drinks. With only three of us it's going to be a bit harder to hide the not drinking...especially as they'll be paying! Aaargh! I'm wondering if I should just tell them. They know me too well and will see through any attempt at an excuse!0 -

Right, composed myself!
I had an early scan at 5+6 and saw the heartbeat mouse, they may get you in earlier like they did with me after last time. I've got everything crossed for you.
PP how lovely telling your parents I bet they were over the moon. Rachy well done on navigating the wedding!
I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and I've caved and booked another early scan privately for Saturday - I just can't wait another 3 weeks, I need to see what is going on in there!! I'm hoping to get a pic to give to my husband on father's day - I haven't told him I'm going so hope he won't be upset!! He is working on Saturday so won't have a clue... just really hope all is well, I'm still having symptoms and feeling rubbish which is hopefully a good sign. Nervous!!!
Isn't this weather glorious, I love it XxMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0 -
Just been to the doctor to report the pregnancy and so that I'm in the system to be seen by the consultant too as well as the community midwife for booking in at some point. I was in the waiting room longer than I was in there for. He did all the usual checks - weight and blood pressure which he said were good, but when I told him that I'm really anxious after what happened before, his response was merely to say, "of course" - no offers of talking to someone or any reassurance at all really which was a bit rubbish, particularly as I'd put on the booking the reason I was there so I'd thought he may have been more sensitive. Oh well, at least the consultant and community midwife should be kinder to me.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

My GP was pretty much the same mouse, I called my EPU direct on the number they gave me when they treated me in January and arranged my own early scan - sure the consultant will be a lot more accommodating and my midwife has been great too XMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0
