I was so excited I told my own mum about 2 weeks ago and the MIL at the weekend and the latter said she had already guessed - apparently trying to keep a low profile as I felt sick was a bit of a giveaway...must get out a bit more incase anyone else notices.

Had a BBQ at the weekend and friends around eating and drinking. Kept myself busy with cooking etc, but made sure to always have a beer bottle close by with lemonade so hopefully we've gained another week on the quiet.

Sickness not as bad now, only seems to hit mid afternoon into the early evening for a few hours, rather than all day as it had been, bought folic acid with ginger plus have a secret stash of ginger nut biscuits hid in my desk at work so they seem to be helping. 3 weeks to my scan, but 2 family weddings and a christening to get through before that!!

Telling my mam was really funny. I had a card with a picture of a stork with 'New Grandchild' on the front and planned to give it to her very blaze as it it was an invitation from someone.

Worked like a dream, too well so that when I casually mentioned I had a card through the door, she sat with it on her knee for what seemed like forever (me shaking and trying to control my body language).

When she eventually put on her glasses and opened it, she read the words 'New Grandchild' and opened the card, still not understanding. I started to laugh and my stepdad got it before her reading the inside message and hugged me. Cue my mam bursting into tears, then me. Very emotional but lovely moment :)

We've got our dating scan in 2 weeks now too :j

Honestly not planning to. I have a docs appointment Fri morning anyway and I figure epu can't do anything at this stage anyway - it would just be a chemical more than likely. After our year of ups and downs I feel very much that what will be will be - so praying it's just old blood and all will be well but if not then this just wasn't the right bean :-)

So sorry to hear that Newthrift. Hope you get the support you need.

I saw your news Cats and thought that you would probably be cautious about joining here just yet. I am hoping that things are okay for you. I think old blood is a good sign but obviously anything is going to be a big worry. Sending positive thoughts xx
