Evening all, well the scan was amazing thank you. She thinks I was measuring 6+6, just the one in there thankfully, in the correct place and a lovely heartbeat. ❤️
I had the day off work and I've mostly been snoozing, I'm shattered! Thank goodness it's the weekend.
I'm considering telling my boss on Monday, has anyone else told work yet? Mine knew I was having treatments and consultant a appointments so i know she's expecting it at some point. Stil a bit nervous though.0 -
Shazzer - I'm so glad the scan went well! Must be a big relief to know that everything is just how it should be. Must have been amazing to see it bopping around in there x
Pink Petal - Glad you are feeling better and found some jeans that are comfy. A size bigger is a good idea.
8 weeks today! I am so tired at the moment and no amount of sleep seems to help at all. I can wake up after a good 9/10 hours (with about 5 loo trips in the middle) and an hr later feel like I need to go right back to bed again.
Met up with a friend and her little boy yesterday for a playdate and lunch. Managed to be 'normal' the whole time which is something of a miracle I think. Didn't heave once! Which means I get to keep it a secret for a little bit longer. I was worried she might guess but if she did she was far too polite to say anything haha. So far we have only told my parents but we see them so often that my mum had already guessed and then told my dad her thoughts.
We are meeting up with hubby's sister, brother in law and grandad next week at an Indian restaurant (mother in law and his stepdad are on holiday for 2 weeks). I'm currently not very good at eating anything with any flavour so this could be interesting. Was thinking of plain rice or maybe a plain naan with some kind of marinated chicken. Was thinking if I eat the chicken on the inside without the marinade on it maybe??? I'm well known for always doing SW or WW so I could pretend Im trying to lose weight again. Drink isn't an issue as I tend to not drink often anyway (another side effect of always dieting lol). Just hope the smell doesn't trigger any sickness!Nov Grocery challenge - £0/£3000 -
Hey all
Glad scan went well Shazzer
I had my night out last night. I said I had been ill with IBS to those who noticed I was driving and on water but some didn't notice until later and were drunk by that point. So I did have one drunken slur about how I must be pregnant and she would ask me tomorrow about it. Luckily she doesn't remember or thought better of it as she hasn't messaged me. I'd just lie if she did because I'd be furious at her blatant disregard for my privacy - if I wanted to tell her then I would!
So I'm 11 weeks today. Scan is on Wednesday and I cannot wait. I just need that reassurance. I don't feel pregnant at all and have had little in the way of symptoms, I haven't even put on weight. So I'm quite anxious about it all.
I can't wait to just relax and also have it all out in the open0 -
Rachylou - glad you made it through the night out, I had one of my hubbys cousins do the same at a wedding last week, thankfully they were rather sheepish and hungover the next morning so I didn't have to go through any more questioning!
Vics - I had a chicken nazakat from our local indian when we had friends over for a takeaway (think thats how you spell it?!) and asked for no fresh coriander, that's not a pregnancy thing, I just hate it! It basically came out with a bit of a garlic type sauce on it so was quite plain and then like you said, SW is quite good for plain-ish food excuses!
Tinks - I have got some maternity leggings and a couple of soft bras. The leggings I needed some new ones anyway and they were cheap in new look and I wasn't going to buy a pair of 'normal' ones I won't be able to fit into in a couple months. I carry a lot of weight around my middle anyway, (PCOS typical) so I don't think I will actually show for a long while as my belly is mostly flabby!0 -
Sounds like you got away with it Rachy! I do find it rude when people say stuff like that though!
I had my birthday night with my friends on Friday and I'd planned to just tell them but at the last minute I changed my mind. I just showed up late (10 mins before the show started so no time for a drink) and said I'd been kept late at work so had to drive or I wouldn't have made it in time. They both looked a bit sus but both have kids so have been there and thought better than to say anything. After the show we went for a drink and one friend was complaining about how disgusting the wine was and asked me to try a sip to see if I thought it was off. I tried the smallest amount (it really was rank) and I think doing that threw her off the scent a wee bit.
Had lunch with another friend today but I had to drive to where she lives so no need to lie this time. On the way back to the car I checked my phone and had a few missed calls from OH. Apparently my cousin and his wife had popped in to tell us they are pregnant! So happy for them as they've been trying for ages. OH saw them coming up the drive and had to quickly hide my vitamins and maternity notes that were sitting on the table haha! They are due two weeks before us so will be baby overload in our family...I'm quite excited to have someone to share it all with...can't wait to be able to tell them -a week tomorrow!0 -
Morning all,
Glad the scan went well Shazzer. Good luck for Wednesday Rachy and well done to all for navigating another weekend!
Had my private scan on Saturday and was dated at 9+6, saw an actual baby!! No longer a flashing blob. Heard the heartbeat (amazing) and got some photos and I cried throughout. I think this is really happening now! It's really real. We're having a baby!

Aw sounds fab mancMama! Isn't it amazing to actually see something that resembles a baby! Our 12 week scan is a week today and I can't wait to see how it's changed since 9 weeks!
Got a wedding invite at the weekend for when I'll be 20 weeks. Is it rude of me (after the scan) to ask about the food...just incase it's red meat or pate or something and I'll have to have mine cooked differently? I don't want to appear fussy!0 -

Not at all, we had haggis at our wedding and a pregnant cousin asked my MIL if she could have a vegetarian starter instead... the only thing that annoyed me was that she could have just asked me and cut out the middle person! Thanks for that! Yea I would definitely just say to the groom about it - he is a work friend. I just didn't want to appear like I was expecting special treatment! We had steak at our wedding and put it on the invites so that anyone who wasn't a fan could opt for the veggie option.

Mmmm is it bad that I really want some haggis now haha?! I would def mention it to the groom, they will want you to enjoy it!
The "bloat" is real today... I've got the bobble on the pants all the time now! Might have to invest in some clothes at weekend xMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0
