Welcome pinkmagpie! Totally know what you mean about functions, we have a communion to go to on the 14th May and I'm trying to come up with an excuse. It's quite far away so I'm thinking I could just say I'm the designated driver!

Evening all.

The scan went well. Dated at 12+4 so guess I'll have to move to the other board now!

Was pretty cool getting to see the babies arms and legs moving about. We're really happy we got to see it. Starting to feel more real now!

Nearly didn't get to have the scan because someone called in sick so they were going to cancel my appointment.

Hope everything is going well for everyone else and hope to see you on the next board!

Gosh I am away for a short time and there are pages to read up on. I hope you are all well?

I was out last night with work people and I managed to last until 9.45pm which bearing in mind that I am normally asleep on the sofa 8.30 -9pm, I thought I did quite well.

I am off to see my dad today and also go round to see my grandmother's and let them know the news. It should help my grandmother feel better or at least give her something to look forward to since my grandfather passed away on Easter Sunday.

Although I am 12 week plus 2 days I am staying here until after my scan on 17th where I can be officially told that I am over 12 weeks.

Those of you with functions coming up... My SIL is maid of honour at her brothers wedding next week and she is 7-8 weeks pregnant and me and Oh are the only ones that know. We have spoken about it a lot and decided making excuses will make it more obvious so she is going to keep a glass of wine in front of her at all times and also ask the bar staff for lemonade that looks like a G&T... If anyone wants to buy her a drink she already has a few lined up or if they really want to get one then she will just not drink it. I had said to her one white wine spritzer won't hurt but they have been trying for over a year and if anything happened and she had had one glass she would feel guilty and blame herself. On the other hand my friend was pregnant when we met up in NY for drinks last year and she had a glass of wine knowing it would mean we had no suspicion of her being pregnant!

Good luck all, this is the hardest stage... Not telling anyone! X

Got my booking in appt in the post today - 2nd June!! I'll be 9 weeks by then... so unless I call the EPU myself I won't be able to get an early scan. Getting cold feet about it now but also scared to go 6 weeks without knowing anything... don't know what to do for the best.

Welcome Pink Magpie. One piece of advice I was kept being given last year was that be prepared for it happening after the first try as it is quite common. Two workmates got caught like that, which is always great news but a big shock. This is why we waited until after New Year as I wanted to relax and drink over Christmas.

Psychobabble - that is what I have been thinking about doing at the wedding I'm going to in a few weeks. My OH will always go to the bar and I guess if he goes with someone, he will conveniently forget mine or just miss a round. I will probably drink lemonade to look like vodka and mixer - although I don't drink or like fizzy pop. Gulp! I will probably have a champers with the toast and may nurse one glass of wine over the entire day but not more than that (if I do at all)
