Have you tried Decaf drinks MancMama?

I am not having any symptoms apart from the AF type pains, they are occurring less than they were though. I thought I would be tired but I don't feel different. If anything, I am awake earlier than usual and not able to get back to sleep (was 5weeks yesterday). Is this normal? (no symptoms)

    Welcome MrsSave!

Kynthia - your scan sounds great - I'm seriously considering paying for an early scan now, just for peace of mind. I'd love to hear the wee heart beat!

Nothing much to report here. I have my docs app tomorrow morning and it can't come soon enough. I hurt my back while gardening on saturday (I suffer with sciatica anyway) and I've been too scared to take any painkillers or ibuprofen so I've been doing pilates like mad! Hopefully she'll tell me if there's something safe to take so I'm not in as much pain!

Rachy, I started out having some nausea for a couple of days but for the last week I've not had any symptoms apart from what feels like slight ov pain and tiredness...but even that doesn't really hit me til about 9.30pm and I'm fine in the morning. I'm 5 weeks too and everything I've read says that symptoms really hit between weeks 6-8 so we have it to look forward to!

    PP x

Rachy/pink that's what I read too, symptoms can vary so much from person to person and preg to preg, who knows what's "normal"?! I have felt a bit off today but thinks its anxiety from going to the docs later. I guess we will see if anything kicks in for us from 6 weeks ish...

I even took another test this morning just to see that the 1-2 had moved to 2-3 (it had). It's something I guess! One day at a time...

Hope everyone is having a good day, sending you all lots of good vibes x

Been to the docs to let them know etc, was given the Emma's Diary book, exemption form and Midwife details so called them and now have to wait for my booking in appointment in the post. I asked about an early scan but was fobbed off a bit with "you can't scan too early because of the testing etc" so not sure if I will get one now. Will pick up at booking in anyway.

One thing off the list at least.

MancMama that's good you have that done at least and now your booking in appointment has been arranged! Looking forward to my docs appointment tomorrow so I can tick that off the list too!

Never even thought to do another test...I got the pack of two and the other one is just sitting there so think I'll do it tomorrow morning before the docs!

I told the doc I'd taken another test and he told me not to worry too much about the numbers as early levels can fluctuate day to day so aren't 100% reliable. The word pregnant is though haha!

Been given an EDD of 5th Jan 2017.

I also took a sample with me as had been peeing a ridiculous amount and was panicking about utis etc - of course it came back all clear. Really need to relax and stop worrying about everything x

The amount of peeing I'm doing has now become a running joke in our house! So far nobody has noticed it in work, mostly I've managed to pee at the same time as I'm heading to meetings/going for lunch etc so maybe not as noticable!

Just wondered how many people all you ladies have told so far? We haven't told anyone...I've not even told my mum although I'm desperate to but I just feel like it's less people to be upset if something terrible happens. I'm going to a friends house for dinner tonight and she messaged me asking if I like pate as that's what she's planning for starter. I had to say I didn't even though I do...just feel it's too early to tell her!

PP you must do what feels right for you - last time we didn't tell anyone and this time we've told close friends and family as I want the support should the same thing happen.

It's a very personal thing I think - whatever feels best for you

I've told my 3 best friends and 2 close work friends (both who are pregnant and knew I was TTC)

Plan was to tell parents over the next couple of weekends as and when we see them but I am finding myself wanting to hold off as I don't think my mum can keep the secret so the later I tell her the better really and I can avoid it until I am safe period as we live a distance and both have hols abroad this month.

OH has told no-one - he is very very private

Petal.. I'm 32 weeks and still not told anyone lol.. i told my older children at 16 weeks, OH's mum I was 21 weeks an my mother mentioned it last week.. some people tell those they would lean on if they were to miscarry.. I wouldnt tell anyone about that either... I have been exactly the same with all of my pregnancies.

OH's mother is not impressed I don't do facebook sharing and all that so is in a sulk with us.. I don't see why anyone else needs to know it wont affect their life..

I am very much a minority, far end of the spectrum... you do what feels right and remember it is yor news, not theirs!!
