Thank you skint, lovely to hear from you - it still hasn't sunk in yet at all...
I think because last time I never got to see/hear a heartbeat its become a big milestone for me now - last time I didn't make it past 6 weeks (but I didn't know this until 11 weeks when I had a bleed) so I guess I feel like an early scan and heartbeat are my first "goal" for this pregnancy.
Sure I will be panicking every day before and after that as well though!
newcook welcome aboard and let's hope we can go through this journey together. I honestly feel like I am going to wake up any minute, today feels like a dream xMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0 -

Hello all... so happy to be here again... just praying it sticks!
How early is too early to ask for a scan?!?!?! Xx
Yay!!!! I'm so pleased to read this Mancmama. Sending you lots of sticky baby dust. I was in your position and wanted early scan but couldn't get one on NHS, we could have had private one but due to the fact it was Xmas time and the scan place was over an hour away we couldn't fit it in around work etc. So we had the agonising wait until the 12 week scan. Wishing you all the best, you will worry constantly though, just to warn you!! (I'm 27 weeks now and worry every day) x

Congrats manc! I was also on this thread with you previously. Keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you this time
My sister paid for a reassurance scan at 8 weeks with her first daughter (having previously suffered a mc), and she said it was reassuring for her at the time, but didn't stop her worrying the rest of the time. Still, she said it was worth it, just to know she'd gotten that far and all was OK at that point (which she didn't have the time before).

***delurking*** Massive congrats Manc - such great news to see you on this thread.
As Euro and others have said, an early scan is reassuring but you won't stop you worrying completely. I've found that I've not looked too far ahead and have taken each scan/appointment/test as a milestone to get past. Possibly not the most optimistic approach but made it more achievable.
Wishing you lots of love and luck

*delurking* Yay so pleased to see you post on this thread again Manc, congratulations! Keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you.
We had a private early scan at 7 weeks which showed the heartbeat - it really did reassure me although I was always aware it didn't mean everything would be fine at 12 weeks.0 -
Great to see you over here MancMama!
I had a dream last night that I had a MC. Woke me up at 5am and I couldn't get back to sleep after that, unsurprisingly. Absolutely terrified something is going to go wrong, every twinge is worrying me, and because we're keeping it quiet until 12 weeks I feel like I've got nobody to talk to about it.0 -
Ohhhh!
MancMama I'm so pleased! Congratulations!!
We had an earlier scan at the EPAU but that was due to some bleeding, which stopped and turned out to be nothing. Was good to get the scan all the same. Showed everything was fine at that point (10 weeks)
If you see your GP they may refer you for an earlier scan. It's worth a try anyway before booking a private one. I know from reading that people do seem to be offered an early scan in similar situations. I suppose it depends on who you see.
If we hadn't ended up being offered one, we would have booked a private scan.
It's a scary enough time anyway, especially if there have been problems before, so that bit of extra reassurance is really important!Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

Tinks, I feel exactly the same
I won't be asking for an early scan though. I have no reason to worry and need to just think positive. I have lots to keep me busy over the next few weeks anyway which will help occupy my mind.
Boobs feel bigger today :eek:0
