Went to IKEA today and spent a long time looking in the children's section at changing tables and the like.

I also found myself searching for prams/travel things online. Found one I liked that had good reviews and low price compared to others. Watched videos about it and everything. So want to be able to buy one.

trying to keep ourselves busy but can't stop thinking about it. Bit scared I'm allowing myself to get too excited. Even knowing what happened last time it's not stopping us from talking about all the things we're going to do, discussing how we'll decorate the nursery etc.

I'm sure everything will be fine if we can just get through this next scan that's really the most precarious time over.

It's scary thinking back to last year. But this time she is feeling much more positive.

Last time she had a feeling of dread all the way through, was determined that something didn't feel right. She doesn't have that this time. Worried sure, as there's always a risk, but feeling like there's a good chance that it'll be alright this time.

Sorry for long post, I just like writing on here, feels cathartic.

4 more days to go. Not like I'm counting or anything!

Very few people actually use the changing tables.. check out the reviews. I have always changed mine on my lap and OH uses the changing mat on the floor.. I'm always convinced a changing table will collapse or the baby will leap off if I blink.. I dont even use the ones in baby changing areas, I rarely used the changing areas tbh, they are usually disgusting. I'd recommend checking a few of those out.. find the decent/cleanish/stink-free ones.. so you know where to run in a hurry!

You know after this scan you convince yourself there will be something wrong at the next one? It doesnt get any better ;) You are on the roller-coaster of worry for life now!

Yes you may well be right!

But getting past the 12 week point, where our first pregnancy ended, will be a huge relief. Even if there will still be plenty of new things to worry about. If it's healthy at this stage there's plenty of reason to be optimistic.

We weren't necessarily going to buy a changing table just enjoying looking at things. Imagining stuff. I see why people can end up spending so much.

You still worry, but I found I worried less about the 20 week scan. And once I got past 24 weeks I relaxed a lot more.

If course, now I'm worrying about giving birth! Haha but still, more excited than anything.

Got my fingers and toes crossed for your 12 week scan Freddie! :)

  • How is everyone?

    Freddie not long now!

I spent yesterday evening in bed with another migraine. I am getting a lot of headaches but the migraines seem to be worse when I haven't eaten properly - the last 2 sundays I didn't eat until 11.30-12ish and then started feeling bad a couple of hours later. Trying to drink plenty of water today to help.

My booking-in appointment is April 1st, the same day we fly up to OHs parents and tell his siblings our news. I've had little mugs made that say 'only the best brothers become uncles' (sister/aunt, granny/great granny) and the due date on them.

My scan is April 20th which is great as thats just before the hen weekend I am going on which means I don't have to think of a ridiculous reason not to drink or join in with the ice sliding in the snow dome.

I have been feeling nauseous but not too bad, until this morning when I brushed my teeth and had to sit down for a minute! Luckily ***touch wood*** haven't been sick yet except the one time a couple of weeks ago which I'm now convinced was a minor bug. I have noticed if I don't eat when I start getting hungry, I not only get 'hangry' (perfectly usual!) I also feel really ill. My poor colleague is ill quite a few times a day and has been for around 3-4 weeks now.

    1 day, 15 hours and 37 minutes...

Brushing teeth also makes OH feel sick occasionally. She also feels worse if she doesn't eat straight away when she's feeling hungry. She hasn't been sick at all but has had bad nausea so far.

Clothes are getting snug. That'll be a job for the weekend getting some looser clothes for her, assuming all is well at the scan.

We're optimistic but also afraid at the same time. We're hopeful everything will be fine but obviously the impact of last time is making it more worrying.

Just wish it was Wednesday now! I know it doesn't sound like that long but the time is going so slowly it's agony.

Glad your dates have fit in well Psycho

    Hope everyone is well.

    Nearly there Beckyy!

    Not long now!:j

Brushing the back of my tongue makes me feel like gagging.

I'm finding I can't eat big meals comfortably anymore as I get full up really quickly. Can't imagine what it's going to be like in a few months time! I seem to be almost constantly eating through the day instead and it seems to suit much better. Like you both say if you wait too long to eat it makes you feel a a bit rubbish too. I read that it's best not to go more than 3 hours without eating something which seems about right.

    I bought this book:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1409345181?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00

Which is interesting and seems to be really helpful. It's nice to have something to read each day rather than each week which all the websites and apps seem to be.

Cool. Yeh I like having something new each day. The Glow pregnancy app is quite good for that.

I'll have to check the glow one out Freddie!

I've been having a look on eBay and there seems to be loads of maternity clothes at next to nothing compared to shop prices! I don't really want to spend loads on new clothes over the months but at the same time want to be comfortable (and look presentable for work!) so it's looking very appealing at the moment!
