I need to get better at distracting myself.

I must have counted how many days til the booking appointment about 50 times yesterday...and obviously the number didn't change!

Just want to know our scan date...so that I can start counting the days for that! I'm hoping we might feel we can relax a bit more after that scan as by the time it happens, 12-13 weeks I hope, there will be a lot more to see and we'll be passed the point we got to last time.

But I don't feel really worried now, just excited! I found it really difficult yesterday because everyone at work was asking how I was, 'am I feeling better after Monday' (as I had the day off for the EPAU appointment - they don't know why I wasn't there)

I really want to tell people but I'm forbidden from doing so until after the next scan.

I ended up just not really saying anything at all as I felt like if I opened my mouth the news would come out...

I'm terrible with secrets when I'm excited, I almost always let slip what Christmas presents I've bought OH. I'm terrible!

We're referring to the baby as 'chestnut' for now, because it'll be born in Autumn and it's little. We sound like nutters. We were bouncing silly nicknames off each other for ages until we decided to pick something to do with Autumn because of the due date.

  • Freddie, my OH is the same... We can't tell friends but he has told the alarm repair man, the Hilary's blinds man, our new neighbours when they came over for a drink and so on. his parents know and we will tell his siblings when we visit the first weekend of April. It's so difficult not to tell! Thinking on my feet is proving difficult.

  • Hi guys, I'm 6/40 today. First baby and very excited. My EDD is 02/11/2016. I have my booking appointment next week and my nuchal scan in April.

Work in the NHS so clued up on somethings but being pregnant is all new! I don't have any symptoms which worries me but I know it can be normal.

We've received our 20 week scan appointment through the post today.

We haven't even had our booking appointment yet!

Will be because that early scan counted as the dating scan so the NT scan is optional.

Just seems like everything's happening the wrong way round.

Also yesterday OH looked on a job site and saw a maternity cover post for her job already up online!! She only told her boss on Monday and it's only 10 weeks in.

Jumping the gun a bit. We'd prefer to wait til at least after the NT before telling people.

If her colleagues look online at the job site, which many do ( an indication of how 'popular' her work place is) they'll be asking questions as to who at work is pregnant and it's going to be pretty obvious that it's her.

Oh well, roll with the punches.

That is incredibly early for them to be advertising Freddie! It's likely to be 5/6 before maternity leave would start?!

Could it be that another colleague is pregnant and due to go on leave sooner?

She's had people asking her, especially since she's needed to also rearrange things so she can attend her booking appointment.

    Next week.

Excited for Wednesday, even though booking appointment is boring, just excited to get the date for the scan.

As I said it seems funny that we already know the 20 week scan date. Seeing her parents for first time since telling them. They were over the moon when I called them on the phone the other day.

She had been really scared about telling them and wanted me to do it. Partially because she wasn't sure what their reaction would be and also she still feels so worried about something going wrong and upsetting people that we've told.

Anyway they sounded so happy, especially after all the bad news they've had this year, was lovely to hear. They understand that it's still early though.
