Fingers crossed for you and OH Freddie, it must be a very worrying. I seems that it can be extremely common though, and it's a good sign OH doesn't feel in pain too. I'm glad you've got a booking at the EPU, at least you'll be able to see that everything is okay and put your minds at rest.0

Headaches gone, just needed a good sleep.
No further spotting since yesterday morning. So for now we're being positive. Only mild cramping the same she's been having most of the way through.
very pleased to know that we're having a scan on Monday so we'll know how things are. But obviously feeling anxious as well. Wondering if they can see anencephaly this early.
Seeing parents this weekend of course for Mother's Day. Will be trickier with this hanging over us. Will just have to try and put it out of our minds.
Hope you're all doing well today. Thank you for supportive messages yesterday. They were a big help

yes they can.
10 weeks seems to be the earliest they can detect it BUT it can occur after this point so would be picked up at the dating scan..
"During the first phase of the study 34,830 fetuses were examined and in eight of the 31 with anencephaly the diagnosis was not made at the 10-14-week scan. Following the audit, 20,407 fetuses were examined and in all 16 with anencephaly the diagnosis was made at the 10-14-week scan. These findings demonstrate that anencephaly can be reliably diagnosed at the routine 10-14-week ultrasound scan, provided a specific search is made for the sonographic features for this condition"

Freddie is she keeping her fluids up ok? Could be a cause for the headaches. I remember feeling AWFUL the 2 weeks before I found out, slept constantly.0

I keep getting headaches but I am definitely not drinking enough... Will try and drink more tomorrow and see how it goes. I'm always bad at drinking much when I'm not at work!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Yes she's drinking plenty. She hasn't had headaches during this pregnancy apart from the day she had the spotting.
So think we can just put that down to stress and worry.
She's been back to normal (pregnancy normal) since. So mild cramps every so often and nausea.
She's actually happy that she's feeling nausea still as its a sign everything's still going on.
On the day of spotting she didn't have any, but I suspect that the bad headache and stress meant she just didn't notice it. Obviously she was worried that was a sign that something had gone wrong, but started again the next day as normal.Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)
