  • Thanks Becky, Pigpen I'm on it wit honey and lemon :) I left work early with a migraine and have slept for 2 hours so I think I'm just burnt out a bit... We had Christmas, got married on 16th January, moved house last week (our first mortgage) and now growing a lo... Need a rest somewhere! Time to start trying to say no to things and people when I can.

Hope you're feeling better soon psycho.

I was ill for quite a while with flu followed by tonsillitis. Was having to make big efforts to avoid making OH ill too.

Nearly ended up addicted to honey and lemon.

Glad you've got your scan date Beckyy.

Still not booking appointment letter! Thought it might be today. Or rather I hoped it would, as if it needed the date changing could have called tomorrow.

If it doesn't come tomorrow or Saturday then it looks very much like the earliest we'll have the appointment is 11 weeks, which is pushing it for the scan date.

I think if it doesn't arrive by the weekend then I'm going to contact our nearest private clinic and find out what times are available and get a dating scan for 11+5 or 11+6 (weekend)

That's only two weeks away! Can't believe it's getting on for week 10 already

A fair amount of pink blood this morning on tissue.

I'm going to call the GP today so we can get referred to the Early Pregnancy Unit which is open on the weekend, so hopefully get a scan to check everything's ok.

At least it means we'll be seen, but obviously she's scared.

I've said as long as it doesn't get worse and there's no cramping or discomfort then there's loads of things online suggesting that it's very common and doesn't mean anything bad.

    Still obviously very worrying.

    Thank you both

Got an appointment to see GP at 16:30. She's texted to say she's had no more since getting to work.

Still best to get checked. We'll take opportunity to see if the doctor can get us a 12 week scan booked as well.

I read a bit more and apparently it's more common if you've had any kind of procedure involving the cervix before, which she has obviously with the termination last time.

She did have the tiniest little bit of spotting earlier on which went away. So I'm holding out strong hope that everything's fine.

But what an awful way to start the day! Don't know how she's going to manage at work (she's a teacher, so it's not like she can hide)

  • Oh Freddie, I hope everything is ok.
At least you can get in for a scan later on to make sure all is well, your poor wife must be beside herself with worry.

I will be thinking of you both today and sending positive thoughts your way.

    Good luck!
That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

spotting at 10 weeks is normal.. it is when the placenta starts working and sometimes a tiny blood vessel or 3 arent quite formed properly resulting in a bit of spotting.. if that helps reassure her any?? Hopefully it is nothing but of course I understand her fears.. hopefully that is all it is!
