Please don't be worried about any lack of symptoms, I'm apparently one of those weird lucky people who had no nausea or sickness and everything so far has been fine. Symptoms alone are not a reliable indicator of a healthy pregnancy.
Booking in was fine down here but I had to book a private dating scan as the NHS admitted they couldn't do the NT testing in the right time frame, maternity services are definitely struggling.

That's quite worrying re: the scan time frame jtr. I'm glad they were upfront and you were able to book a private one.
My initial booking in was all the paperwork, health/family history, height, weight, BP and CO2 check. I'm back next week for a blood test and urine sample.
I should get my scan date in the post in the next fortnight.0 -
Hoping they do what they did last time which was call the scan department while we were there with them.
Hoping letter could arrive from tomorrow.

Mine took an age to come through then the scan staff complained because I couldnt make the first appointment and moved it by 2 days (Tues to Thurs).. but they took 5 weeks to send my appointment through which i had to change to the following week because they only do bookings on a tuesday but I have no childcare on a tuesday.. so I was 11+4 weeks by dates at booking then it was christmas and obviously new year then they moved my due date by 9 days so I was 15 weeks at the dating scan so too far for the NT .. I did point out those 2 days would have not made any difference but the 5 weeks waiting for the booking appointment would.. they say they do the bookings at 9-10 weeks! and scan in the 2 weeks after.
Most depts are really busy at the moment, I reckon it is because they need to have them before 2017 for child benefit so everyone is squeezing in the one they planned for the future.
You could always try the EPU if it is upsetting the Mrs's happiness with worry.. I could understand if it was.. the GP might be a little sympathetic.. its worth a try at least surely.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi, how is everyone?
Have you got your booking in appointment yet Freddie?
I'm seriously feeling sorry for myself today. I have a hiatus hernia that was diagnosed last year and I've been in so much pain with it over the last day. I've hardly had any sleep (neither has my poor oh) and now I'm starting to worry this is going to be a regular thing as I think being pregnant could impact on it.0 -
Feeling so much better today. I know now what medication I need to take and have been told I need to take it on a daily basis, thank goodness I have my medical exemption so won't need to pay for it once a month!!
How is everyone?0 -
Glad you've got something to help ThinkPink, it must be so painful
I'm quite tired, the last couple of nights I've been waking up through the night and not getting back to sleep very well.
I definitely have a very small bump appearing. My stomach muscles obviously aren't as strong as I thought!
I hope you're all well?0 -
It is awful, the pain is horrid, I was trying not to get myself in a state as I usually end up in a panic as I struggle to breathe but I did much better this time as controlling my breathing really helped.
Hope you manage to get a good night's sleep, or maybe If you have a quiet weekend you could have a little nap during the day to try and recharge yourself a little bit.x0 -
Hope everyone is feeling better today. My nausea seems to have dies down today and I am actually feeling hunger pangs. Queue healthy eating.
Well my appointment was a bit of a bust on Wednesday.
So we started to go through advice and the gp started asking me which hospital I would like to go to. When I mentioned I was moving so haven't picked a hospital yet he said well if you're moving then there is no point booking you in today. Wait until you get to the other end.
The only thing I got was some advice and some vitamin D tablets as I am deficient.
No urine test, no pack and limited advice. I am a bit frustrated really as I'm going to be 10 weeks before I can get my booking in doneThat voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

That sounds dreadful ThinkPink
I really hope the meds for it work some magic and help settle it down.
Very frustrating First_Trouble. Could you speak to the GP surgery you'll be transferring to and do a phone appointment with the midwife so they can ask anything important and put request your scan etc.?
I've been impatient and booked an early scan for next week. I saw a private clinic with an offer on for £39 so decided that for the price we might as well and it lets us know whether things are okay so far or if there are any major problems, we might tell parents or close relatives if all is well at it.0
