  • That's great MancMama, we can't self refer here either. I do agree, it sounds as normal as these things get. We don't even get a midwife until 12 week so all worries or concerns have to happen through a GP appointment which I think is a waste of their time when a midwife would probably have a better idea of how much concern there should be.

athens - as pigpen said, it is worry after worry, i kept thinking "I'll stop worrying when baby is here" last time, but that is when the real worries started! Symptoms do come and go, I had a couple of days around 7 weeks where I didn't feel as tired or sick, should have made the most of them because I've felt rotten since! It isn't easy at all and I don't think partners "get it" as much, we are the ones who have to be in tune to what's going on, we feel rotten so it is much more real for us than them in the first instance!
  • Does anyone else wake up and think am I actually pregnant?

For the past 2 mornings I've woken up with no nausea and no boobie pain. They're starting to hurt a little bit now but not like the start when it was all the time. Am I the only one who worries? DH has told me to chill out but it's not that easy when it's constantly on your mind.

Me! I have had the odd bit of nausea, and sore boobs about 10days ago but other than being extremely tired I don't feel it at all!

I've had to tell a few people in work/they guessed. I am a teacher in a prison and my line manager won't allow me to have prisoner contact from today onwards (I'm only 6.5wks gone). I'm now on admin duties. I'm sad but a bit relieved, I enjoy my job but they are a volatile and boisterous bunch (I work with the young offenders) and accidents are best avoided. My line manager told people it was for medical reasons and two of my work friends who knew I was trying asked me outright so I didn't lie! I didn't want people to know yet but there is no way round it unless I withheld the info, which is against our health and safety rules and I needed time off urgently for my booking in appt so had to explain.

  • I had my 7 week scan here yesterday, seen and heard the little heartbeat and everything! It was pretty amazing.

Next appointment won't be till this time next month so I'm counting down the days to I see the little bean again. Hubby was at my appointment and it makes it so much more real now that this might be happening!!!

Planning on sitting down tonight to do out a budgeting plan from January.. Can't wait to get Christmas wrapped up!

I'm flying on 24th back to Ireland so I'm a little nervous with flying so early on but hopefully fingers crossed, everything will be okay

Manc - so glad the midwife was able to reassure you!

Tata - great news about your scan :) Hopefully, these next 5 weeks will fly by for you! :)

Everyone in my office has guessed now. I went from having no sick days all year to having 2 lots of 2 days in less than 5 weeks, as well as vomiting fairly frequently in the office. Makes it kinda difficult to hide! lol

Was chatting to DH about scan last night, and he is nervous too which is reassuring in an odd kind of way lol. Then had a really weird dream where I turned up for scan but I had forgotten my appt letter and pregnancy book, and then they were so busy they couldn't fit me in and made me stay overnight so they could see me the next day. When I finally got in there, they pulled out a massive long needle. I freaked out and they said 'Oh don't worry, we're just going to put this into your heart to take a small sample, you'll only feel a pinch!'. Cue more freaking out from me! lol They did the scan in my dream though and all was fine, but there were twins in there lol I woke up in a bit of a panic to say the least!

Well after no nausea for 2.5 weeks I feel pretty grotty today.. bye bye cold! lol. I've had nosebleed number 1 this morning and I still can't wash my hair.. My hips have kept me awake all night.. best dig out the old crutches before I need them! I used them from 16 weeks with the last one :(

I'm demanding a hysterectomy after this lol... no really I am.. :p With a family history of cervical cancer I have grounds.. I think that is where we will end up this time anyway... I love these irrational concerns.

OH and DD1 know about this and that is all.. I'm doing well.. no one else inc. OH knew about the last one.. I was 14 weeks when DD1 asked and 15 before I told OH.

Sounds like twins are the least of your worries. :rotfl:

    Thanks Manc, I am :)

Scan this afternoon. Feel like I'm in a time vortex where it's all going incredibly slowly and taking forever!!! lol

My tummy seems to have popped out a little this week, but still kinda just looks like I ate too much haha

I'm in the same position. I have my booking in appointment at 2.45 leaving work at 2.10 and this morning is just dragging. I'm really busy today too which usually means my day flies but not today.
