Can I join in, found out last week that I am pregnant.
Calculated due date to be 21/6 and my GP told me to go self refer myself to the hospital. I went yesterday to the antenatal clinic to fill in the forms- my hospital haven't discovered online forms or email! the receptionists words to me was I was early!

Have what I think is pain related to bad trapped wind over the last couple of days, and the odd nauseous feeling that passes. Went and bought some pregnancare vits on way home from work.

Haven't told anyone yet although I have a sneaky feeling TH has told my brother(they work together)
Dying to tell someone so I've come on this thread :-)

Congratulations vanilla! I had horrendous trapped wind when I first found out I was pregnant. A friend recommended doing the downward facing dog pose from yoga to help shift it (on all fours with bum in the air basically). It's great to have somewhere to discuss symptoms and have a moan if you're feeling rough (don't panic if you don't get morning sickness straight away - some people don't get it at all, and others it starts to kick in around week 6).
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Congratulations Vanilla! :)

I had awful amount of wind and bloating for the first couple of weeks. It seems to have calmed down now, thankfully. Although I did have a bit trapped under my rib this morning. That was uncomfortable! Lol

Congratulations to our new ladies, and omg lulu! Twins is the thing I'm terrified about this time given my age.
I left my phone at home today, and missed a call from the midwife at the hospital. It's got me worried about what they may want. I have a sneaky feeling it's to tell me to test my sugar levels the week before my scan, which is what I had to do each month last time. I'll have to wait till tomorrow to call back as it was too late to call before I got home for the message. It's so frustrating and I've got loads of scenarios running round my head I hope I get some sleep tonight.

Congrats Lulu! What a big surprise!

I cannot wait for our scan - 6 days to go! We know from a private scan there is only 1 (I was for some strange reason a little but gutted - would have liked twins!).

I had my flu jab last week - the one at the GP is the same as the one you can get at supermarkets etc. Midwife told me to get it so I did, but I am not sure how effective they are. But as I have had cold after cold since I got pregnant, I thought a bit of protection against the flu, no matter how small would be helpful

    Welcome Vanilla!

  • Welcome vanilla and hugs Lemon - I'm sure it will be what you expect, keep us posted!

I've had bloating and trapped wind a bit too so glad to hear I'm not alone... questioning everything of course, its all still so new.

Can I ask if any of you have told family/close friends yet? We are really undecided on what to do, I'm very close to my parents and siblings and not sure I can lie to them for the next 7 weeks... but I obviously don't feel like the whole world should know yet...hmm! x

I only told my Mum recently as she sort of guessed due to my reflux issues and asked me if I could be. I've told online friends. Last time I told everyone as soon as I found out but knowing so many friends who've had missed miscarriages I'm really cautious this time round (especially as I don't want Ds getting excited about being a big brother and then having to explain if it goes wrong). I want to tell one of my friends in private before my other friends as her missed miscarriage was recent and I want to give her the chance to process the news in case it's upsetting for her so she doesn't have to do the forced happiness with everyone around her if she's hurting.
