Glad everything is ok highland. Bean hope you feel better soon. I know what you mean about it not being 'real'. I think it'll sink in after my scan. Well that's my 2nd period missed and my positive tests - i was surprised my doctor didn't do a check, just took my word. I've been sleeping so much!

Hi all, hope everyone's had a good weekend and hasn't been feeling too sick! I've discovered that if I eat small amounts frequently, and almost as soon as I wake up, that really helps me to stop feeling so nauseous. It was easy over the weekend, with a quiet day at work on Saturday, but in reality not sure how it will happen at work!

I've got my booking in appointment with the midwife today, was meant to be Thursday but she'd messed up her bookings. She's coming to the house so the weekend was spent having a big clean and tidy, it's been a while since we've done it!

DH & I sat down & worked out finances at the weekend, I've decided to set a target of saving £5000 for when I'm on maternity leave, so *i think* we've worked out a plan of action. I also cheekily called Sky & said I was thinking of leaving, can they make it cheaper etc. & the nice lady lowered our bill by £11.50 a month for 10 months! I'll call again once that's up & try my luck again. I really need to sit down & get some stuff on eBay too, could really do with a clear out & some extra money!

It's a huge financial change for us too. I will get maternity from my main job by I am zero hours on the 2nd so won't earn until I go back - think I'll be able to do some hours while still on materity. Need to figure out where we are going to live - our 1 bed flat is too small but it's been up for sale and still no takers!

I don't know anything about zero hours contracts, but normally you would be entitled to SMP for a second job, based on your average earnings in a period running up to the Qualifying Week (15 weeks before due date). Might be worth checking your contract to make sure you're not entitled, as you could get 90% of average wages, or SMP (if 90% of wages is more than this), for up to 39 weeks.

I took the day off work yesterday, took DD to nursery and spent the day resting at home. Feel slightly better for it, but still knackered! Sickness is here with a vengeance, threw up most of my meals yesterday and breakfast this morning :o

I finally got all my appointments through, consultant, MW booking in and dating scan. My scan seems really late, i'll be over 13 weeks by then.

I'm starting to get really jealous of all you girls getting booking in appointments and scan dates, I've not heard a peep about any of it since seeing the useless locum dr. I'll keep my fingers crossed something turns up in the post either today or tomorrow.

I've noticed that my normal trousers i wear for work are starting to get a bit tight, didn't expect to be putting weight on this soon.:o

A week tomorrow until my scan! By then I will be 12+5 and impatient!

I am feeling super fat and can't do up my jeans anymore when I am sat down/driving.

Still can't believe I am pregnant, especially as symptoms have dissipated somewhat over the last week or so. I'm hoping it will feel more real after the scan and once work knows. I guess it's like going on holiday? (hopeful face) you know, it doesn't feel real until you actually get on the aeroplane?!

I just assumed you could only get maternity pay for 1 job? My main job is full time but only 2/3rd of the year, pay split though out the year. I get full pay for 6 months and 6 months half - i think, can't find where I read that. So I assume I won't be entitled to anything in my other job ? If it was my only job think I would get SMP.
