Less than 12 weeks pregnant club! Part 4!!

I drank coffee (decaf) all through my last pregnancy but as soon as she was born, I went right off it and still can't drink it. Drank hot chocolate the first few weeks after A was born and then went onto tea... but this pregnancy I've gone off tea. I usually have Chai tea or rooibos (which is caffeine free) but both just make me really nauseous at the moment
The only thing I really fancy drinking is milk; but that is really hard at work/when visiting people!
Saw my midwife again this morning and got my blood test results - all ok. She's going to try and get my first consultant appt for straight after my 20 week scan which would be really helpful. Unfortunately it will be a different consultant as the one I was under before is on a sabbatical. Next appt with the midwife is in 4 weeks time; 2 weeks after my official scan.
I'm so impatient waiting for Saturday to come... to know if it everything is ok or my body has tricked me again.
Hope that the week is good everyone.
Sweetilemon, you can buy decaf diet coke here in the UK - its a gold can.0 -
7+2 today and suffering with awful all day sickness! Couldn't keep anything down at all yesterday apart from 1 slice of cheese on toast! Not actually thrown up today (yet!) but feel terrible. I'm in work all week which is kind of good as I find it distracts me, but I am dreading actually having to be sick whilst I'm here. Got my booking in appointment on Wed so will talk to the midwife about it and see if she has any magic cures (wishful thinking!!!)
Ginger doesn't work, I bought some anti-travel sickness bands and they don't seem to work, doesn't seem to matter what or when I eat... Anyone got any other ideas I can try?0 -
Sorry you're feeling so rough Bean83
I have good and bad days, on the bad days I'm throwing up pretty much every meal. I had the same with my DD, but as it wasn't every day and I could keep fluids down I never went to GP. They can prescribe anti-emetic drugs if your sickness gets really bad. I eat a cracker before I sit up in the morning, which seems to stave off the worst of it. Mine is worse when I'm hungry so I'm eating lots of snacks, but it doesn't always help.

Thank you for your ideas! I've been shopping and stocked up on crackers to eat in bed and lots of carbs so will try all these suggestions tomorrow in the hope that something takes the edge off it! I shouldn't complain really as I know lots of women would love to be in my position so I'm trying not to be too moany about it.
Hope everyone else is doing ok.0 -
Woohoo so excited!! My scan date is in, 13th Aug which means it's at 10 weeks. I can hardly wait. Hoping I don't have to go into work straight after but knowing my work I'll have to. Going to announce it to our families with a card and scan pic if all goes well. Still not been sick but get so nauseous. No matter how much water I drink I still seem to be dehydrated. Been quite emotional - cried at 16 & pregnant on MTV today haha.
Is anyone else watching their weight? I've been told to try to maintain throughout my pregnancy because I have a high BMI. It's a struggle though, especially feeling so nauseous I keep eating, put on 6lb already - really need to be careful!0 -
Morning all
I'm really struggling with exhaustion atm, I almost fell asleep on my desk yesterday afternoon! Went to bed really early last night and slept through my alarm this morning, still feel knackered today.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
I totally get the tiredness littlemoog, I must have slept for 4/5 hours throughout the day Sunday and then still slept right through the night with out waking. you sort of expect sickness but feeling tired from the time you wake until you get back into bed of an evening is a killer.
I'm still not sick as such, i occasionally get a feeling of sickness, you know that feeling in your stomach and throat, but it can pass quite quickly with a drink or something to eat.
Boobs are still hurting, mainly of a night and they are getting quite big!!!
I'm currently waiting to hear from the midwife after going the drs Friday, which was a complete waste of my time. my dr was off sick so had a locum in and she didn't have a clue, I was there for 45 minutes and all she basically did was take my name and address, she predicted an EDD of the 12/13th March but she was so unhelpful that i'm not even going to acknowledge that date and wait to speak with the midwife. She wouldn't answer any of my questions and just kept saying wait and speak with a nurse. I left in a pretty bad mood.
Oh and my little cousin (i say little shes 15) was told by her friends nan, who does readings and stuff, that there will be twins in the family soon!!!! Lets just say I have a history of twins on both sides of my family :eek:hi0 -
Hi all, how is everyone today? Hope everyone's sickness/tiredness isn't bothering them too much!
My sickness is still pretty bad, but eating little and often is definitely helping. I have also discovered that Robinson's lemon barley water helps to subdue the nausea just a tiny bit so am drinking it by the gallon! Weirdly, I tried to drink some tap water the other day and it tasted absolutely disgusting - I got my OH to try it and he said it was fine, but the taste nearly made me sick which was really strange.
Had my booking in appointment this morning, so now just got to wait for my scan date to arrive in the post. Still doesn't feel quite 'real' yet, I wonder when that will kick in?!0 -

Had another early scan today after some more bleeding (very red this time) today. Still a little heartbeat fluttering away in there. Cannot tell what is causing bleeding but have been advised against intercourse for 2 weeks (because there was so much of that happening with how I am feeling right now lol)
She was happy with the growth in the last week and a bit so my dates have changed a bit and am now due 11th March instead of 7th
