Less than 12 weeks pregnant club! Part 4!!

So i've got my appointment with the Dr on Friday, what should I expect? I'm pretty sure this isn't a booking in as it's the first contact with a professional since having a positive test, a family member said i should take a water sample but I haven't been told to by the dr's?!?!?!? Not sure what to expect or do???

Oh and boobs have been killing me these past few days, but so far the only symptom i've got of my pregnancy.

me-charlotte the GP will probably just fill out whatever form is required in your area to refer you to MW services. Mine have never even said congratulations!

You don't actually have to in my area either you can just ring the MW service direct, I only went to GP because I knew I needed an extra referral for my thyroid condition, and this time round for an early scan.

Don't worry about a water sample, me-charlotte. If they need one, they'll just give you a sample cup (that isn't the right word - blaming baby brain!) in the GP office. Like LittleMoog said, they'll probably just confirm the pregnancy then get you in touch with a midwife

It's the same in my area though, you just ring the MW centre and get passed on from there! My appointment went well yesterday, had my EDD brought forward to the 13.02.16 The midwife thinks I'm 10+5, not 9+5 like I worked out! Waiting on our scan date now. It's all starting to seem very real!

Hi all


I got my shock BFP last week and so thought I'd come and join you all. I have been over on the TTC when it's not happening thread for a year or so now, we've been trying for a few years and had an ICSI cycle earlier this year which unfortunately we had to abort due to me developing OHSS and having to be hospitalised. We decided to have a few months off and, low and behold, I've actually managed to get pregnant naturally which was a HUGE shock. I actually just did the test to rule out pregnancy as my cycles have been all over the place since the IVF drugs and never expected it to be positive. My last AF was 4th June which will put me at exactly 7 weeks today and give me an EDD of 10th March. I've completed the form for the midwife referral so just waiting on my booking in appointment now. Really just want to have my first scan to make sure there is actually something in there as I'm still convinced it can't be true

Hey Choc, nice to see a familiar name Hasn't sunk it yet then? After trying for so long, I think it takes longer to get your head around it - I didn't believe it until we had an emergency scan a couple of weeks ago. When I saw it chillaxing away in there, it really made it very real!

Sorry haven't been around for a while; I was on a training course in London for 3 days. Hats off to pregnant ladies who have to get the tube every day, the Central Line was unbearably hot and I had to get off before puking

Things I've learnt in the last 10 weeks (for morning sickness sufferers):
There's no shame in going to bed at 8.30pm every night.
Naps help so much.
Forget breakfast, lunch and dinner: eat every 1-2 hours, whatever you can handle, even if its just 6 hash browns (oops!).
Definitely eat a bowl of cereal (or something) before bed.
Take any vitamins before bed (not in the morning).


Questions:
When does it actually sink in that you're having a baby?! Cos it still doesn't feel real!


I'm 10+4 now and I don't think I can wait another 2 weeks for a scan. Anyone else went private for an early ultrasound?
