I have booked an early scan for two reasons; my husband is away for work on the date of our nhs scan and because I have had a mmc previously I cannot cope with going to the scan on my own and secondly the week before my nhs scan my sister in law is coming to stay and she will be suspicious if I don't drink and obviously with her staying I can't pull the "I'm driving" card out.

Just over a week to our early scan, exactly 3 weeks to our nhs one

I'm half considering booking another early scan in a couple of weeks, as my DH doesn't feel very reassured by the one we had this week. I think he was expecting to see a baby, not a dot with a flickering heartbeat! The EPAU nurse said the chance of a successful pregnancy once you've seen the heartbeat is ~90%, but we do know a couple of people who've seen heartbeat and then gone on to have a mc so I get why he's still anxious. Not like him to worry, I'm normally the one in a tizz about things, but I think he found the mc harder than i did. I know so many people it's happened to I wasn't necessarily expecting it to go smoothly, especially as I had a v straightforward pregnancy with DD.
I've had nausea/sickness every day this week, seems like things are going ok for now, but I guess it's easier for me as I feel the symptoms. Will probably wait and see when my NHS scan is, and then look at private ones if it's really far away.

Hope that you have a lovely break niptuckfan

I have had weeks of all day nausea, some days worse than others but this morning was actually sick. Ugh, I hate being sick so hoping that will be my lot. Surprisingly, after actually being sick I have felt better today than I have for weeks.

Midwife again in the morning and my private scan on Saturday. I feel ill just thinking about that but at the same time, what will be will be and wish it were tomorrow. Am keeping everything crossed that it is good news. I have bought A a T-shirt say "I'm going to be a big sister" as our way of sharing the news.

Hope that everyone has a good week ahead x

I've not actually been sick but have this constant sicky feeling. Food is starting to taste different and I've gone off certain things. Feel like my 5 week wait for my scan feels like FOREVER. Just want to know everything is ok and start telling family! Still waiting on my scan date.

I haven't been able to finish a cuppa for weeks now. I used to have 4-5 cups a day but I just can't drink it, its just weird and slightly annoying as I love a cuppa. Hoping my taste of tea will come back when the morning sickness goes!

Morning all, hope everyone had a nice weekend :) My DD went for a sleepover at MIL's so we could tackle the spare room (dumping ground!) and have a date night, lovely :) My sickness has subsided slightly the last 2 days, which is nice, but also a bit worrying. I'm sure it will be back though, I remember having up and down days with my DD, but I've been finding it reassuring after not feeling sick at all with my mmc.
7 weeks yesterday, still waiting for appointments to come through in the post for booking in and dating scan, but will hopefully arrive this week!

  • Hi all, hope everyone's had a good weekend and hasn't been feeling too sick! I've discovered that if I eat small amounts frequently, and almost as soon as I wake up, that really helps me to stop feeling so nauseous. It was easy over the weekend, with a quiet day at work on Saturday, but in reality not sure how it will happen at work!

I've got my booking in appointment with the midwife today, was meant to be Thursday but she'd messed up her bookings. She's coming to the house so the weekend was spent having a big clean and tidy, it's been a while since we've done it!

DH & I sat down & worked out finances at the weekend, I've decided to set a target of saving £5000 for when I'm on maternity leave, so *i think* we've worked out a plan of action. I also cheekily called Sky & said I was thinking of leaving, can they make it cheaper etc. & the nice lady lowered our bill by £11.50 a month for 10 months! I'll call again once that's up & try my luck again. I really need to sit down & get some stuff on eBay too, could really do with a clear out & some extra money!

Tea has caffeine which we need to cut down anyway so probably your body naturally telling you to stop drinking it. I gave up diet coke because of caffeine.

I know, I bought de-caf tea as soon as I found out, but just can't drink it. I've basically just drank the same natural squash for weeks and I'm so bored of it now, would just love a cuppa and a biscuit!
