Hi haras! Welcome
so exciting. Is this your first?
That's a lovely way of making her feel special saffagal. Sounds like a beautiful way of you both announcing it together.0 -
Thank you
I already have a 2 and a half year old son but last time we were ttc for 8 months so I was tracking everything. This time I fell much quicker
Feeling a bit scared about having a 3 year old and a new born. I work in a high pressure job (main earned in our household by a long way) last time only took 6 weeks off work. We are now in a better position financially and I want to take 6 months but dreading telling my boss.I am a Mortgage Adviser

That's a lovely age gap. Do you get a good company maternity? It is really tough breaking the news, I had to tell both employers early to take time for appointments and the jobs. At least you can do your KIT days if you are taking longer to touch base.0 -
Sadly get 6 weeks at 90% then smp. This was why I only took 6 weeks off last time as we couldn't afford for me to be on smp
Hubby got made redundant Xmas just gone but found a job 6 weeks later so we have his redundancy pay out (8k) which means I can take longer this time
I earn about 3 times his salary while working part time so most of the financial pressure is on me. We could have him take the leave but a) I want to take it and b) he has only been in his new job 4 months so don't want to risk itI am a Mortgage Adviser

It is a lot of pressure. At least you can enjoy a little longer this time. I wish partners got longer paternity, I have no inclination of splitting mine but 2 weeks in this day in age is not a lot! Would love to be a stay at home mum but unfortunately I also want a nice house and car so will need to go back to work.
I've bought my parents and inlaws a card to put the scan pics in if all goes well to announce my pregnancy. My scan is at 9 +4 worried it's too early to do the downs test? Hoping to announce it to everyone after the scan.0 -

Afternoon all. Hope everyone had a good weekend
my DH was poorly so was mostly single parenting while he slept/rested. Luckily sickness not been too bad over the weekend and DD was very well behaved. Completely wiped out today though and very nauseous, so have called in sick and came home to bed after taking DD to nursery. Slept until 2 and woke up starving!
I'm only 8+1, but none of my trousers will do up abd my tummy is so round and hard. I think it's bloating as opposed to actual bump, but my scan isn't until 13+3, not sure I'll be able to hide it until then!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Afternoon ladies, hope all is well!
Really need some new work trousers, really feeling them today. Thought about unbuttoning them while I was working but you know that would be a disaster when I forget!
11 weeks today, can't believe I only have another week on here, it's gone so fast. Fortunately don't feel as sick as I have been but still absolutely zonked - like niptuckfan says, don't know how you cope with the tiredness when you have other kids to run after (I asked my Mum, as I'm the youngest of four - she just laughed!)
Had our booking in appointment last week which was basically all paperwork and blood tests, not as exciting as I thought, but then don't know why I thought it would be exciting?! Just waiting for 12 week scan date now...so excited0 -
Evening ladies
On the work trousers front, I have to wear black trousers and for the past 2 weeks have actually been wearing a pair of elasticated trousers in a size larger than I usually wear that I bought to wear after A's birth before I could fit back in my usual clothes. Elastic is so the way to go :rotfl: I did use a hairband on the button a few times but found it didn't give enough extra space/comfort.
Glad that you had a nice holiday *niptuckfan*
I have to admit, I usually am very strict about how much TV/dvds I allow my daughter to watch, but we've been watching a LOT of cbeebies over the past few weeks as it means I can sit/lie on the sofa and rest. Luckily she still sleeps in the day too... and I have been known to join her for her nap
My daughter will be just under 3 when this LO is born; I think it will be a good age gap.
Anyway... its past 8 pm and I'm shattered as worked today so night all!0 -
