I did my booking in with the midwife on my own, as long as you can answer a few questions about the dad's health & his immediate family, it should be fine. I think I was asked about heart problems, if anyone in his immediate family had previously had a stillbirth, or born deaf. Booking in is lots of questions about you & your health, blood tests, and I was given some information about our options for screening tests, and birthing options. My midwife then dealt with the 12 week scan request, prescription exemption certificate, and some other paperwork, although some may do it differently.MFW 2016 #32 £1574.66/£1500:j:j0

I have never taken OH to a midwife appt; it is a health check for you really and to get you registered on the system. He has only ever accompanied me to scans, and then not all of those (I had extra scans last pregnancy as was consultant led) as he's not entitled to the time off work as I am.0

Morning all, hope you had nice weekends
We had a quiet weekend at home, just what the doctor ordered. Feeling quite perky this morning, not sure it will last long but trying to make the most of it!
DH came with me to booking appt, first couple of consultant appointments, scans and 16w midwife appt last time. He's coming to consultant appt this week with me, and may come to booking next week as he's working at home that day anyway. If the consultants start getting to be a pain about my VBAC plans I'll take him to those appointments later on anyway, as an advocate. Our trust is quite women-centred though, so hoping they won't kick up a fuss.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
morning all
We took the house! japmis i cant send a link its offline now but its fantastic! its a really nice house, has been a hard adjustment for OH coming back to town but i really feel while we on a reduced income and have a new baby i need to make life simpler and country life is costly/isolating
charlotte i would say your pics are like myself, i have put on abuot 4/5lbs since found out and just feel a little more rounded
i am ten weeks today and according to app baby is size of a kumkat organge or a lego figure man (this made me LOL)
i am feeling pretty yuck to be honest but hoping it will pass soon, 2 weeks tomrorow for scan
haras i didnt take OH as its a pretty boring app and they like to see you at least for some part on your own (incase you are vulnreable or in an abusive relationship) only reason i would say to take him is if he has any family history of strange conditions etc0 -
morning folks, my maternity trousers came today and they fab, iv only put on a few lbs but think its because i feeling so bloated...i think couple more weeks and i will be wearing them for work...i sit at desk all day so need comfy! i am feeling so much better today spoke to landlord last night and he agreed on my date i wanted to move out....so its all go...started selling a few items on gumtree that we dont need...and will bring home boxes from work

After being really bloated last week, I'm feeling much better this week and can do up my trousers again
They get tight by the time I get home though, straight into PJs for me at the moment! Last time around I needed maternity trousers by the time I got to my 12 week scan, I'm resisting getting them out this time until absolutely necessary.
My queasiness has subsided a bit as well, no vomiting since Saturday :j but I've completely gone off tea, absolutely gutted as I love a cuppa. It makes me feel really queasy and bloated, so have switched to peppermint or ginger and lemon teas.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
i'm feeling really "round" today and i'm going to have to get some bigger trousers soon as the ones i wear for work are getting really uncomfortable, don't know if it'd be worth getting maternity instead so they'll last.
I eat and it makes me feel nauseous, i don't eat and it makes me feel nauseous. I drink flat drinks (squash/ water/ fruit juice) and it makes me feel nauseous, I drink fizzy drinks and it makes me feel nauseous. I just can't win, I've taken to picking at food and snacks, which isn't very healthy as small food seems to come in the form of biscuits. Oh and i've gone from absolutely loving fruit and veg and easily eating 5/6 portions a day to turning my nose up at it all. I can't even face eating it.
I seriously can't wait for this phase to pass, I've well and truly had enough. can't wait to actually enjoy a meal (would love a good roast dinner with roast potatoes and all the trimmings) instead of forcing myself to eat some thing.:(hi0 -
I'm glad that I seem to have got past that, it was driving me bonkers. Feel a lot better this week, long may it last.
I'm actually 12+1 today but don't feel like I can go to the next thread until I have had my scan (next Monday) so I'm going to hang here for a bit longer if no-one minds!0
