I am currently 10+6 with my second child (my OHs first), after a 14 year gap!!

Still waiting for my first scan, should be within 2 weeks.

Booking in appointment went well, the midwife was trying to decide whether to ask me if I am 35 yet (despite having my date of birth on the paperwork), then I told her I am 42 and she was truely shocked. These PG hormones (plus a younger OH) must be good for me

Thanks for the good wishes, consultant clinic was a farcical waste of time, they were running an hour late, and when I finally got seen the endocrinologist realised they'd not sent me for a blood test to check my thyroid levels so there was nothing to discuss! So then got sent for bloods, another 40 min wait! Luckily the mw from the combined clinic suggested I get my booking bloods done at the same time to save me a repeat visit next week, so she got me all the right forms. The obs consultant really annoyed me by insisting that I'm 11 weeks, and refusing to take miscarriage into account until my dating scan gives them a date. Generally very irritated, £4 on parking and 2 hours in the hospitak in total. Grr!

Scan went well; I was moved ahead another day so edd is now 19th Feb and tomorrow I am 13 weeks! Baby was very comfy, in completely the wrong position for getting the measurements so after trying jigging about I was sent out to walk "with an exaggerated hip swagger" for 15min whilst drinking iced water to get baby to move about and into a better position. Totally avoided making eye contact with anyone in the waiting room whilst I swaggered about
It worked, also got some lovely photos of baby to bring home to OH.

I had my official risk assessment completed at work yesterday, and after today's scan this pregnancy now seems real. Looks like I won't have my first consultant appt until my 20 week scan and as I gave the lady who books scans in the dates I'm away around 20 weeks hopefully will be made appointments that I don't have to change.

IanRi, glad to hear that physically your wife has recovered well and her body seems back on track to enable you both to try again when you're ready.

Well had my scan today at 9.5 weeks. Obviously some sort of computer error because they weren't happy about me having it early. They were stingy with the photos and literally said 'I won't keep you' but I saw the heart beat and them kicking their leg. Measurements were fine and ive got another appointment for the 12 week in 3 weeks. Told the parents and friends today. I was so tired after such a long day I had a nap when I got in. Back to my main job tomorrow, at least I get some days off for appointments and scans!

sweetilemon glad your scan went well, hopefullly next one you get a bit more time to enjoy it

i am on cloud 9, credit check accepted for the new house, OH been offered work with a different company...better conditions and pay and possibly closer work - kind of feels like everything just falling into place. goign to try and chill this weekend as think my BP has been a bit high lately and not good for me or baby
