Welcome Laura. You are in the right place. Please add yourself to the list (on the previous page).

We are all a big mess of excitement and terror in equal measure, but whatever happens we will be hear to support you. Fingers crossed for a sticky bean.

Welcome Laura. Being scared is totally normal, and to be honest, I don't think it ever really goes away. Your worry just shifts from one thing to the next.

Gelly, so pleased you might have found out whats been causing your miscarriages. Fingers crossed that with this knowledge and your treatment, this will be a super sticky one.

IanRi - exciting day! Hope your scan goes well, and you actually get a picture, not just numbers! Dreams are weird, especially when something is on your mind.

Rambosmum - do you have any symptoms of a UTI. I have a stabby pain when my bladder is really full in the morning and not sure if it is a UTI or just morning aches and pains?

Japmis - we haven't bought anything yet. Whilst I am the least superstitious person going, I dont want to get anything until we have had a scan but have seen a few things out the corner of my eye when out and about ;)

Pinkshoes - all is sounding good. Each day is a day closer.

AFM - 9+5 today. Phoned the docs and the woman confirmed they have my details and will be in touch for the booking appt. My hopes of asking midwife to sort out an early scan like last time are rapidly vanishing. Already been told by the EPU at our hospital I cant get a scan unless bleeding and cramps, or until I have had three MC.

Still feel horrible most of the day, seems to be worst around 11am and then around 5ish until bed time. I am trying to get to sleep at 8-9 each evening just so I don't have to feel horrible any longer. Sad or what.
Felt really icky this morning but a suasage roll soon took care of that. Now I just feel bloated but super thirsty, an evil combination.

Hope everyone has a good day.

A little shocked as we had only just started trying. This will be our first child, my first ever pregnancy.

Us too, wishing you best of luck.
I really want to be excited, but I'm so scared at the same time as it's so early.

We were exactly the same, still are. But have scan today so hoping for good news. Will start telling people then. Haven't told anyone yet and it's been difficult when it's the main thing on your mind.

  • Hi All

It's lovely reading all the comments and good lucks, hoping everyone who have scans soon are all good, fingers crossed.

As for me had some time of work last week the sickness was awful its a real shock when you had no sickness in your first pregnancy. However things tend to have settled down now (although I hope I haven't just jinxed myself!) rather than feeling sick all day I seem to just be getting waves throughout the day which is better. Luckily I only have 4 more days at work then I'm off for two weeks can not wait!

No scan date through yet just hoping its not when we are away but I did tell the midwife the dates so hopefully she'll be able to sort me out.

    Take Care All xx

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes, and IanRi for putting me on the list! Fingers crossed for the scan today!

I've been to the doctors today & filled out the forms for the midwife. I was also told I have to see my GP as well, but the earliest appointment they had is 4 weeks Friday! Feels like ages!

I'm looking forward to having a read through & getting to know you all :)

    Not good news.

We saw the baby kicking around, stretching, waving. Got really excited. The sonographer said the baby was in too awkward a position to measure. So we went out for a walk, talked about how amazing it had been to see it there, so lively, started really believing that we were going to be a mum and dad.

But when we went back in and he tried again he noticed something wrong with the head. Another came in to check. It's a neural tube defect, caused babies head not to develop properly, missing part of its scalp and brain.

3 in 10,000 chance. Happened despite taking folic acid for months in advance of trying and every day through.

Really upset, back tomorrow for senior doctor to check and talk to us about options and termination.

She just wants it out of her. The thought of having this poor little thing alive but not really alive in there is really upsetting.

It wouldn't have been as bad if we hadn't seen it looking so alive, then had the time to get excited before hearing the bad news.

It's certain, but I'm still hoping against hope that they find they were wrong when they check tomorrow.

Oh gosh IanRi, I'm so sorry to hear that. There is still hope, my mum was told my brother was missing half his brain and sent to the local specialist hospital a week later 100 miles from home. They found the other half of the brain, and he's now a healthy 21 year old.

All the best for tomorrow. Thinking of you.x
