Edited my due date as I was measured at 29th December at my scan.

Pinkshoes - I am also a teacher! Feel like you throw a spanner in the staffing works when you tell work you are pregnant! See you on the next thread I am sure xx

Quite a few teachers on here! I haven't told school either, just asked for the day off for a hospital appointment. I have had two missed miscarriages, so not sure whether to let them just in case it is bad news. Very nerve-wracking!!

We haven't told anyone yet as we both agreed to wait until we'd seem the scan, for the same reason. This is our first and we were lucky that it happened first cycle trying.

Nothing to really suggest anything could be wrong but still worry over little things. She hasn't really had any strong symptoms all the way through, just tiredness and occasional mild cramps in that area. Feeling a bit sick around 10am but she hasn't actually been sick at any point.

But read that some people only have very mild symptoms.

I'm terrible at keeping secrets when I'm excited! I have a tendency to let slip birthday presents etc. so this has been difficult as it's the most excited I've been about something. I've found it tricky talking to people on occasion when the only thing I'm thinking about is something I can't say!

On here doesn't count though :D

    Hi guys.

Welcome IanRI and shopkeepwife. Good to hear from you littleskintdragon.

Congrats Diamond orchid. How exciting. One more day closer to bubs.

Rambosmum, you picked the perfect time to have a wall missing. Lovely warm weather at the mo. Are you having an extension done?

Still feel pants. MS ramping up a bit. Resorted to ginger nuts yesterday which actually did help a bit, but cant scoff them all day as I would be even bigger than I am now and I at least want to stay stable weight wise.

Phoning the docs tomorrow as I will be 9 weeks and still not heard a peep from anyone. I feel invisible.

I've actually managed to loose weight (only 3lbs) but I am hoping to stay a stable weight as I'm a little overweight as it is.

My MS comes for a few days - nausea all day, occasional being sick then goes for a few days. If I eat first thing I'm much better than if I leave it a bit. I wouldn't say I've had mega pg symptoms.

My OH is a teacher, there's slap cheek going round his school and so he had to tell his head as they wanted to put the kids with it in his class for the day(they have 3 pg teachers already) and he had to refuse.

And does anyone know where you can actually walk in to a shop and try on maternity clothes that don't cost an arm and a leg?

I don't need them yet but in August I've got a 60th and 80th bday parties and my current suitable clothes barely fit now so if all goes well certainly won't fit then.

I went to the Trafford centre last night and the only shop that had anything was mama's and papa's, which is hideously expensive! I'll do online if I have to (I'm an ebay fiend usually) but for these parties I want to make sure I look nice and I'm a bit of funny shape anyway!
  • Rambosmum - I've got Asda and New Look lined up for when I need them - gorgeous dresses mostly about £10-15 :) The maternity ranges are online and I think the bigger stores have them on the high street.

I like New Look it's my favourite shop to have to be taken into as I tend to like almost everything in there. Would you believe that at one point OH actually trusted me to buy her some day and evening dresses for taking away on holiday, without any supervision or advice and I did pretty well. Only 1 got sent back out of 8.

She's already starting to complain that some dresses are starting to feel tight although she's the same weight as before so may not be long before we're looking at maternity wear.

But yeah they have maternity clothes out, she's mentioned Asda too for cheap bulk buy stuff.

EDIT: would just like to make clear that I don't wear the clothes from New Look, I just like them on her!!

I bought a bundle on ebay and it included a beautiful Karen Millen dress that I wore to a wedding last time i was pregnant. You can then just sell on anything you don't like.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    Hi there
Just wanted to update quickly and ask if anyone is in same boat as me...

I'm about 5 and a half weeks. Had brown spotting since I got my bfp which turned into red blood on Tuesday. I've got a daughter 20 months and had two mcs before I had her so I thought it was over. Early scan yesterday saw sac and yolk but no baby and nurse said all in line with dates and suspected implantation bleed.

I'm so nervous. Back in 2 weeks to see how it's going. I'm just going to try and think about it as little as possible. I can't take much reassurance from scan as I've had the same before with a bad ending.

    It's not easy is it?
