I told my boss today as I had an appraisal with her and thought it was the best time to do so just in case the scan doesn't show what we want on Saturday I can sort it all out. She almost cried bless her! She then had to tell the head of my department who was definitely not expecting it!
They've both been absolutely amazing about it and it's made me a lot more confident about being hereOur Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

Morning ladies!
Lulu, fingers crossed for Saturday. Will be thinking of you. Great news that work are supportive. I have a great boss and know they will be fine if I have to disappear at short notice if its bad news.
Woke up today and boobs are less sore, and I am not feeling that tired anymore, in fact I am decidedly chipper this morning...which of course has me freaking out things are not going well. Took another HPT day before yesterday and the line was still very strong, so that is good, but cant shake that feeling.
In two minds about having an early scan this time. Part of me wants to wallow in my ignorance and enjoy the feeling for as long as possible. The other part wants to know if everything is OK and if not, get things sorted and hopefully start to get some testing done to see what the problem is.
I will see what the midwife says as she is the one who told the EPU a few porkies to get me an early scan last time. One of the biggest reasons for not wanting an early private scan (and this may seem a bit crazy) is the fact that the first time I went for one, I went on my own as OH had to work as it was just a few days before Christmas, then after being told the bad news, I had to go to the desk in reception with everyone watching to pay when all I wanted to do was crawl under a rock.
I am so convinced that things are going to go wrong that I haven't even contacted the doctors yet to register for the anti-natal clinic to kick off the midwife appointments. Not sure when I will do this yet, maybe next week.0 -
Welcome devildolly, and congratulations
sorry to hear of your past losses, I know our local EPU will see patients that have had recurrent early losses for a reassurance scan at 6-7 weeks, referred by GP. Hope you can get something similar x fingers crossed for a sticky bean this time

Hello everyone
How's everyone doing? I haven't been on for a while. Welcome and congratulations to anyone who's arrived recently
Devildolly, I'm sorry to hear about your past losses, I hope you get some reassurance soon and fingers crossed for a sticky one x
I'm feeling quite good today, it's nice for a change! I've still got cramping but very little nausea for once.
Good luck with your scan on Saturday Lulu - I had one at 7+3 and it looked like a kidney bean with a heartbeat - amazing!
I've got my 12wk scan next Fri, I can't wait. Consultant appointment on Tuesday as well (high BMI).

Thanks for the welcome guys. Good luck for your scan next week jwil.
Having a eurovision (laugh at the TV) night on Saturday. Not much other than that, but hope the weather is good so I can get some gardening done.
Just got back from the docs and got my repeat prescription for high dose folic acid due to my high BMI. He also made me register for the midwife too so should see someone in the next few weeks and confirmed I will get referred for testing if it happens again. Also taking low dose aspirin as a 'just in case' measure.
Apologies for my hugely negative rant the other day. Feeling much better today:)
