Less than 12 weeks pregnant club! Part 4!!

Well I haven't posted for a while as everything had been going pretty uneventfully until Monday!
Monday night I was sitting on the sofa watching tv and I felt something 'oozing' out. Now I'm used to discharge so casually got a tissue to wipe it with but to my horror I find the tissue covered in bright red blood with a clot on it  . I ran upstairs to OH crying my eyes out and he came to the loo with me where I wiped more blood. I text my friend who is pregnant and has experienced bleeding and she advised me to go to a&e. I'm not one to make a fuss so I decided to wait overnight and see if I was still bleeding in the morning. Cue tears all night
.
Next morning it was still red blood like a period so I went to work and called the doctor who made an appointment for me that morning. I was so upset I could have cried constantly but needed to hold it together at work. Managed to call someone in to cover me, had a cry on way to doctors. As soon as I went into doctors office I burst into tears! She did an internal examination and said that cervix was closed and womb was as big or even bigger than she would expect. But I was still bleeding so she rang hospital to get me checked out. OH managed to drive stupidly fast from being half way across the country to get to hospital to be with me bless him.
At the hospital they said initially they had no one there to do the scan but would do an internal examination, then on the way to the room it turned out the lady was late going home and would stay a bit longer to scan me woohoo! Slightly confusing initially too because the lady who had received me at the hospital had miscalculated and said I was 7 weeks not 11! So the doctor wanted to do a scan even more urgently. On the scan was a baby with a heartbeat :T wasn't moving to start with but they got me to jiggle about and baby started moving too. They also established the blood wasn't coming from around the baby so were happy. Dated me 11+2.
They said bleeding could be down to an infection or from lifting. I am guilty of lifting so lesson learnt!!!
Bleeding still but more just brown spotting and I'm not panicking about it any more. Didn't realise how much I wanted this baby!!!

I hope your pregnancy returns to bring uneventful xPlease forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0

Took a while to get used to them, and they still surprise me occasionally and make me wonder if everything's alright. It is completely normal though, so don't fret.
I think if you were moving things at work and you felt a pain, I argue that it's your body telling you to take it easy and stop - I've had it a couple of times if I've lifted something slightly heavy.
Is your ClearBlue test saying 1-2 weeks? If I'm right, then you add on another two to that, so you're 3-4 weeks? Either way, I think you'll be having a scan in 7 weeks, rather than 10. But again, another question to ask the GP on Friday as they might work differently where you are!
And don't be sorry for all the questions, it's what we're here for!

Eek 7 weeks that's quick. Thanks for the advice I'll be more careful in future. Think I'll have loads of questions for the doctor haha! How are you feeling today?0 -
Thanks RobotsInDisguise! Me too! Haven't bled this afternoon so I hope that's the end of it. Got my 12 week scan on Thursday so not to long to wait for some more reassurance.

The list is growing rightly!
I was at a funeral today, not a close relation but it was quite bittersweet. Even though it was a sad occasion, a lot of my husbands family noticed my bump & were congratulating us.
Even though I'm 11+4, we are happy & content now that we had our scans & everything looks oaks it could be!0 -
Blimey cmace that sounds scary, glad everything is ok though.
I had my first day of nausea this week- hope not too many of those ;-) Is anyone else having constant mild cramping? I know it's my body adjusting for the task in hand but it's highly distracting and uncomfortable!
Next time someone does a list update could you add me on please? (On my phone) Going by my date of conception due date is 03/10/2014 but guess that'll be confirmed in due course. Got my early scan through fertility centre on 17th feb and been told to arrange to see GP after that.
Guessing everyone else is going through elation mixed with fear mixed with !!!!!!!? We're considering ourselves extremely lucky!!Total money owed: [STRIKE]31/07/11- £17,877[/STRIKE], LBM - 14/10/12 :j, 01/06/13 - £0 DEBT FREE!!!!

Hello ladies,
I have lurked for a while and wonder if you knowledgeable lot could answer me a question please (I should now as I already have a child but this is the first time I've studied it so much)
Basically if I fell pregnant this cycle and say for example found out on the day af was due (28 day cycle), would this make me two weeks pregnant (since ovulation) or four weeks pregnant (from day of last period). I've heard doctors calculate from the first day of last period but that means you go from zero to four weeks in one day and that doesn't seem correct.Very confused and appreciate any replies xxx

It is correct! They calculate from LMP I think because that is the only date they can actually be sure on. So you are 2 weeks pregnant before you have even ovulated! So yes, 2 weeks after you have conceived, you are actually called 4 weeks pregnant. It is weird!0
