So a few things!
1- spoke to the midwife at the GP surgery, and she sounds LOVELY which is great. She is sending my referral to my chosen hospital today and was fine about it being out of area.
2-lulu, not unheard of to get a spot or two of blood when you ovulate, so if you have EWCM, you could be spot on for a good time to try! The SMEP would say BD today, Tomorrow, miss a day and then one more.
3-Jane, you and me both, I was a geriatric last time at 36, so now I must be a more or less a goner at 40 for my EDD!
4-Pington, no furry tummy, but last time I sprouted long dark wiry hairs on the underside of my chin. niiiiiiice. Pregnancy is not glamorous!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Hi ladies, just a quick update from me - I had my 12 week scan today and all was well
I really needed a wee so the picture was really clear, baby was wiggling around and waving her arms all over the place, we could even see her fingers, so cute
she's had a growth spurt too as I'm 11+4 by lmp date but she's measuring 12+2 so I've gained a few days and my new due date is 28th March! Nuchal fold measurement looks good and I've done the blood test too so fingers crossed it comes back low risk. So I guess it's time to move on to the next thread, but I like it here! I might hover over both for a few weeks til more of you move up if that's ok?
Other things - no hairy tummy (yet!), and not been on the pill for years so I'm not much help with either thing there! I'm not quite geriatric but not far off (33 now, 34 by the time baby arrives)!
Danielley - I'm sorry I've not responded to what you said about me applying for a promotion. I wanted to write a proper reply from my laptop (rather than phone) but I've not had chance. Firstly thank you! I know exactly what you mean and I do think experience wise I must be the best person for the job having spent the best part of a year doing it, but equally I think the timings not great for me.
Because of the complications I had in my last pregnancy (I lost my baby at 32 weeks) I'll be induced at 38 weeks this time, so that's mid March. Also I've got in my head I want to go on maternity leave at about 30 weeks as my work is quite a long way from my house and my hospital, and I need the reassurance that I can go to my hospital or call my midwife as soon I'm worried (big regret from last pregnancy, although I don't think it would've changed the outcome).
My boss was talking about having someone in place in November so that's only three months before I'll be off hopefully. I'm not sure if I'll take nine months or a year off (finances dependant) but I will go back, although that said in an ideal world I'd like more than one child!
My jobs three days a week at the mo and the promotion job is four days a week on a higher salary with a car allowance so it's probably £500 more a month, which would make a huge difference to me! But three days a week is easier for me to fit around my endless hospital appointments and is more relaxing. I'm sorry, this has ended up being a long waffle! I think I'm going to talk to my boss about it when the job is advertised and see what she says, it's generally a good place to work so I'm not too worried about discrimination, more about being an inconvenience!
Anyways, best be a good wife and get on with my housewife duties before the husband comes home!
Hope you're all ok and thinking of you pink shoes if you're still around x0 -
Any updates CCL? Not much more advice I can give that hasn't already been said so I've got my fingers crossed for you.
milly - I would just ring them up. The worst they'll do is tell you to wait, but hopefully they'll be helpful even if it's just to reassure you that they have your details!
No furry belly for me PingtonSorry to hear it's still quiet over on the other side, I would have thought it would be busy with lots of replies! There's a few of us here due to graduate soon so hopefully we'll liven it up
Glad everything went well with your scan Tilly, hooray for graduating!! :T Absolutely fine to stay here until it perks up over there, I'll keep you on the listsSounds like you've had a tough decision to make about going for that promotion. Do they know you are pregnant yet? I think if it was me personally, I would err on the side of caution and stay in my current position, and then keep everything crossed that something else pops up when you return. But who knows, you might want to stay on a 3 day week when little one gets here as you'll have more time to spend with him/her. Plus factoring childcare costs etc, it may be that it works out you are no better or worse off if you look at it that way. Phew, so much to think about as a working woman!

Tilly what do you feel in your gut about going for the new job? It sounds like it would be less stressful staying where you are but if you are really up for promotion maybe it's time to make a move.
I accepted a new job a week before I found out I was pregnant with my first. By the time I started work there I was about 11 weeks, it was a move from a very stressful job into a less stressful one with the sme amount of money. I was moving withing the nhs so there was no change to my maternity pay. I did feel quilty about being in the job and then going on mat leave 6 months later but it was definitely the right decision for me. I am still in that job because I love it and they let me go back 3 days after mat leave.
I felt so sick this morning nearly thought I wasn't going to make it into work, I managed to eat half my porridge and the sickness got a lot better phew. So desperate to keep this pregnancy a secret until scan.:jMarried 16/07/2010, ds1 born 11/08/12, baby due 08/05/20150 -
