Sorry to hear your news Pinkshoes, and sorry that the hospital were so thoughtless and unhelpful. I'd try ringing back in the morning, when different staff (hopefully more helpful ones!) are on, and explain you are 50miles away and would like to get a proper plan of action before coming all that way.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Pinkshoes - how truly awful, sending all the best to you and your OH at this incredibly difficult time.
If the NHS do confirm the worst, there is a miscarriage thread on here if or when you ever want this kind of support.
On a related but separate note I am shocked and saddened by your EPU response. I really would encourage you or your OH to complain to PALS. Sure maybe a scan wouldn't make any difference (I have no idea), but listening, compassion and kindness does make a difference, it's free and doesn't take any time. It makes me mad that people who are at their most vulnerable are treated like this. However you may not feel up to this of course and must do what is best for you and OHMet DH to be 2010

So sorry to hear your news pinkshoes
So sad. Hope you and your OH can look after each other in this horrible time. I have had 2 miscarriages and know how awful it all is. Hugs

Needing some advice ladies.... Sorry for TMI..... I have had some brown discharge since Friday. Is only really when I wipe and not huge amounts. Not quite sure what to do, last time I had this it led onto miscarriage quite quickly (within a day) but no bleeding or cramps as yet.
Who should I call? Doctors? Or there is an EPU in Edinburgh which isn't too far away so should I call them? Last time I called NHS 24 who referred me but I was bleeding and cramping then. Am so confused and scared, really praying it isn't happening againJust not quite sure what to do

CCL, so sorry you are worrying, hopefully it's all OK and as has been mentioned before, brown blood is better than red in these circumstances. Not sure if it is the same in Scotland but if you need a referral to the EPU you should probably get an emergency Dr's apt today or what about a walk in clinic ? That was how I got referred when this happened to me and they tend to open quite early.0

CCL - good advice from jane.
I would also *ahem* mention cramps even if they are not there as in the context of having had 2 miscarriages I imagine your stress levels are off the chart and you might need to mention cramping, bleeding and a past history to be listened to sadly.
You can attend A&E if EPU and drs are no go.
Also as Jane says brown blood is a much better sign than red, so good luck with getting seen soon and everything crossed for you.
