Hi everyone, sorry I have been a bit quiet recently. I have been popping in and reading all your updates though and its great to see all the newbies too. Soooo... I am 11 weeks today which is brill, i'm starting to feel less sick as well which is nice. My first midwife appointment was Saturday and it went fine. I had all the blood tests etc on Monday AND (da da daaa) the big 12 week scan is on the 19th (i.e NEXT WEEK! eeek!) I never thought it would come! Will pop in and let you all know how it went next week. Have a great week everyone. xx0

I can't wait to tell my team at work, I had only worked there 6 months before going off for my first baby, I felt pretty guilty about that. I have been back from mat leave since last July and I get asked all the time if I am having another baby, people get really excited about babies. I haven't told anyone we were trying for a baby or that now I am pregnant, will wait till after scan.
I am hoping no one guesses I am pregnant not sure if I will start to show before 12 weeks because it is my second baby, sickness has been better this time around so far so feel I should cope with that ok.
Great to hear about everyone having their scans.:jMarried 16/07/2010, ds1 born 11/08/12, baby due 08/05/20150 -

I'm so glad you managed to get an appointment Aunty, lets hope they get it sorted soon. Eeek, how amazing if you make this the third set of twins?! How do you feel about that prospect?
Good to hear from those of you who have had scans and appointments that they have all gone well. danielley, I feel the same about telling colleagues! I know my Dept will be lovely, but I don't want to be fussed over or have lots of questions asked as it still all feels too soon, I am enjoying it being a private family thing at the moment.
I would be interested to find out how much you all have to pay for your NHS scan pictures. Like everything I suppose its a postcode lottery! My letter said to bring 5 x £1 coins per photo we wanted - turns out that the sonographer prints them out and then you just feed the money in a machine that prints you out a tiny receipt. I say tiny, its about a quarter the size of a postage stampOur sonographer was lovely and printed out 3 photos and told us just to get one token, so it was buy one get two free
That may have been because its still early and so it's not the clearest of pictures, and I suppose that changes depending on who scans you, but if the corridor was empty you could just as easily walk off without paying
How does it work in your hospitals?
£5 for one picture or £10 for three. Except with twins, where it was £10 for sixWe paid with card at a machine on the wall, it gave us a receipt and we never actually had to show it when we were given the pics!

Great news Aunty Pickle!
How are you feeling today? Had your blood test today yet?
Im hoping as you've found out your Midwife appointment it means I will learn mine very soon also! 10 weeks on sunday! I need at least 1 weeks notice to get time off work so I think best case scenario (i.e. they call tonight/tomorrow morning) is next Friday! if not, im going to be at least 11 weeks before I see anyone!0 -
hi everyone!
Hope everyone is ok - it's Thursday which means the weekend is very nearly here! Hooray!! And my best friend is coming to stay - I haven't told her yet, wanted to see her face rather than hear her scream down the phone at me!!! :rotfl:
I had bloods taken this morning, they fitted me in as an extra which was good so I was in and out within 5 mins of arriving. They should get the results Monday/Tuesday so hopefully depending on those, the GP will then decide if I need any kind of medication for sickness - or if something else is going on.
I was really hoping to hear from the EPU (Early Pregnancy Unit) today after being referred yesterday. After being told "officially" that it could be twins, we want to know for definite!!!!! I know that it might not be (could be cyst or fibroid or something) - so it's kind of weird half thinking about it and not knowing. I don't want to think too much that it is twins until we know for sure - if that makes sense!!! Hoping they contact me tomorrow. Otherwise I guess we'll have to wait until we see the midwife on Tuesday and see what they say.
Otherwise, just feeling the same as usual, sick and tired!!! OH is at a work's dinner tonight so I'm supposed to be getting something for me to eat. (I've been avoiding the kitchen!!!)
Oh, and I've also been booked in for a flu jab!!! (beginning of October)
Apologies for the essay!!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
hi i would like to join. I am 8 weeks due date 22/04/15.
Its my 4th pregnancy saw the midwife this tuesday gone for a booking appt quite early i thought but nevermind. No scan date as of yet.
I noticed something worrying though they have my online notes wrong they showed my 2nd pregnancy as breech. He was not it was gbs infection and emergency c-section. I have to bring it up at the hospital as midwife could not amend it on her system.
I started feeling sick this last week and was once. That has never happened to me before i was never actually sick before just felt it. My sister has had twins twice......
My 3rd pregnancy was hard i had gestational diabetes. Midwife said i will be tested for this at 28weeks. I thought it would be earlier. Anyone have experience of this?0 -
Hi all
aunty pickle - a tentative wave from the twin camp.
Welcome maysie.
Well had the private 12week scan tonight and both bubs are perfect. Although they were called naughty by the sonographer because they flipped over every time she tried to capture them.
It's amazing the difference between the scan 2weeks ago and today - the features are so clear and it incredible. Can definitely tell their noses, hands, feet etc.
I am dated at 12+1 which is spot on. But I won't move on to the next thread until the NHS scan on Monday if that's ok.
Happy thursday to all- only one more day till the weekend!!!!0 -
