Less than 12 weeks pregnant club! Part 4!!

Hello all,

I had a dating scan today. All is looking ok, but as I am only 11wk0days the baby is a bit too small to do the nuchal test so I am going back when I am 12wk6days to be checked.

The naughty little monkey wouldn't play ball and turned upside down and faced away so they couldn't get a great picture, but it was a lot clearer than the 7wk scan we had.

I am planning on telling some colleagues today, but I am dreading it a little as I don't like fuss and I don't want lots of attention, so I'm hoping to be able to do it low key.

Hope you are all doing well. It's lovely to hear about how everyone is doing, early pregnancy is quite isolating so this forum is a lifeline.

I had my booking in appt today, which was fine, and they've put me down as 10 weeks with an edd of 07 April 15.

Apparently Oxfordshire don't do scans until 11 weeks through to 14 weeks, so I just have to wait.

I'm bored of being patient, so private scan booked for Saturday! EXCITED!!

so.....

saw GP, she was really nice and sympathetic and reassuring that feeling sick is a good sign of a strong pregnancy!!

Pulse and BP were normal.

She has arranged for me to have blood tests tomorrow to check for various things inc liver/kidney function and thyroid function to check that nothing else is going on to cause sickness. Did a urine sample which was negative for ketones which are apparently an indication of dehydration so that's good.
She also felt my tummy and thinks there is a possibility that I could be carrying twins :eek: It also might be a cyst or something similar.

So she is trying to arrange an urgent scan for me to check things out!!!!

She said that if I continue to feel sick and lose weight into next week to go back and see them.

Glad you've been seen & reassured. Did she give you anything to help with the sickness at all?

Hope you get a scan soon, twinnies, we were waiting for our 3rd set weren't we?! Hope you start to feel much better soon! x

nothing for sickness yet - I think she's going to wait for results of blood tests to make sure it's not caused by anything else so they know what to treat - if anything. If that makes sense!!!!

Glad to hear how everyone is getting on ,big hugs to everybody :j, not much to report here, just waiting for my first midwife appointment in a couple of weeks, still feeling very tired, not sleeping well and feeling more sick during the day , at least i haven't been physically sick yet :T

I'm so glad you managed to get an appointment Aunty, lets hope they get it sorted soon. Eeek, how amazing if you make this the third set of twins?! How do you feel about that prospect?

Good to hear from those of you who have had scans and appointments that they have all gone well. danielley, I feel the same about telling colleagues! I know my Dept will be lovely, but I don't want to be fussed over or have lots of questions asked as it still all feels too soon, I am enjoying it being a private family thing at the moment.

I would be interested to find out how much you all have to pay for your NHS scan pictures. Like everything I suppose its a postcode lottery! My letter said to bring 5 x £1 coins per photo we wanted - turns out that the sonographer prints them out and then you just feed the money in a machine that prints you out a tiny receipt. I say tiny, its about a quarter the size of a postage stamp Our sonographer was lovely and printed out 3 photos and told us just to get one token, so it was buy one get two free That may have been because its still early and so it's not the clearest of pictures, and I suppose that changes depending on who scans you, but if the corridor was empty you could just as easily walk off without paying How does it work in your hospitals?
