Really sorry to hear you are suffering so much auntie pickle, an emergency appt would definitely be a good idea.
I was training today for my secretarial job and I eat really regular to minimise sickness and it was difficult in a small room when everyone is listening to presenter and I am sat at the front grrr luckily I got through the day even though it was boringgggg

Oh auntie pickle, defo get your OH to get a same day appointment fir you tomorrow, really hope they can give you something to help.
Pington, my MW said I might have got my scan too late for the Down's syndrome test but after the cut off (is it 14 weeks?!) they would do what she said was a 'double test' so we would defo get the screening. I believe it's done by blood tests. As it turns out I'm having the scan at 13 weeks so there's no need but there's defo another option if you can't/don't want to go private.0 -
I was told the screening from measurements needs to take place before 14 weeks, meaning I was too late at 14+2. For single pregnancies they can still do a blood test without the measurements after this, however they can't do this with multiples. I've no idea how the results of just the blood test compare to also having the measurements.0

*delurking* just to let you know, because they couldn't take measurements at my 12 week scan - baby was being a pain, I ended up having the quad test which couldn't be done before 14 weeks but can be done upto about 16 weeks (I think if I remember correctly). So there may be an option available to you if you want to run checks.

Always - congratulations on making the 12 week mark, of course you can stay until you have your scan and you can graduate officially
gayleygoo - Wow, think I need to read that 'Childbirth without Fear' book, or any book written by an author with such an amazing name
pinkshoes - That's awful that your HOD as leaked the news!! My HOD has already been talking about organising trips for the future and expecting me to be on them, I've had to act all excited and make the right noises so I don't give anything away yet! Hope all goes well with your MW appt tomorrow.
Aunty - massive hugs to you, you sound like you're having an awful time. I definitely think you should get yourself an emergency appt as it could be that you need some medication to ease your symptoms. Fingers crossed you start feeling better soon.
Trixsie - glad your MW appt went well - makes it all seem a bit more real now doesn't it! Hopefully it's not long until you see baby on the screenEdited to add: Is your EDD definitely 6th Feb? That means you're well over 12 weeks already and technically a graduate!
As for me, had my dating scan today and I'm measuring as expected. It's amazing to see how much baby has grown in just 2 weeks! It was a bit reluctant to wake up at first but with a bit of encouragement baby started wiggling arms and legs for usAs I already suspected, I was too early for the Downs screening so I get another scan in 2 weeks time at 12 weeks, not that I'm complaining. It's going to cost me a fortune with all these scan pictures I'm buying!

We did ask about this but apparently it can't be done with twins, due to not being able to tell which twin might be affected or if it's both, or if levels are just due to having two babies. There isn't much info out there on screening with twins and I never thought to look into it!0 -
One bonus of twin scans though: you get 6 pictures for your £10 instead of 3
softens the blow of having to lie there for AGES which I found really uncomfortable! I think I'll need to take breaks during the anomaly scan!

missymoo no it's not definite lol they had to give me that date as that lines up with the dates of my last period but we had a negative blood test result on 21st July so it will change as soon as scan is done I thinkxxx
Debt free finally :j
First house purchase ... 2018 :j0 -
Regarding prices of scans I can't remember the price locally because it was over 2 years ago for me but when we got to the hospital and had the scan no one asked for the money?!? Hopefully it will be the same this time around
When I was training yesterday I was in the building across from the mat unit and was thinking can't wait to go for my first scan. Although apparently they do an early pregnancy class there too which I am waiting on a date for.
I am not at work for the next 3 days so going to enjoy some time with my little boy.

Hello!
So, when OH phoned this morning, by the time he got through there were no appointments left  but they did advise to phone at lunch time to see if there were any cancellations for this afternoon,
So I've just phoned and I'm being seen at 4.10pm!!! Woohoo!! :j The receptionist was like "and you have to be seen today?" er... yes!!!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0
